Growing up in the Latrobe Valley in the 70s & 80s, I was surrounded by Maltese. But I was pretty much the only NMFC fan.

Xerri stuck out and piqued our interest with a masterful "walking the dog" using a very rare green and white Leeds (lemonade) yoyo. We were transfixed!

If he was going to use a yo-yo, surely it would have been Xerri Cola.

The main VBU shop steward at Toyota Altona was Maltese bloke and he was 6 foot 5 120 kegs - he would always say all his brothers were 5 3!

Did he ever mention how tall his postman was???

Really switched on kid as well with his schooling ect. Long way to go but has all the right building blocks there.

Yep your mates right! Ripping kid ripping family! The hours/days his family used to put into club functions were incredible. Not to mention the way his mother used to go out of her way to get to know a new WAG and make her feel welcome! Can't speak highly enough about that family! Anyway good luck with him! I really hope he finds his feet and stars for your mob!

Whats more important is his ol' man has also supported Nth Melb as well...........he'll know the history, he'll have an opinion outside in inner scrotum as is for many of us here and have an opinion on the way the VFL/AFL media etc has treated us whilst he was growing up...... the passion will be genuine from this lad.

From the video from training he managed to get a hand onto the ball against the stronger boys.........giddy up !!

Cant wait for this lad to be smashing the door down....it'll take time I know. But its easy to see he has got the drive to succeed , the pressure is within his family.
