There hasn't been a golden period of tv quite like the older seasons of the Simpsons. Unfortunately they need to take there own advice now.

Show should have died when the movie came out.

They will probably keep making The Simpsons till the voice actors can longer do it.

Season 3 Episode 7 "Treehouse of Horror II". Aired October 31st, 1991.

We're getting into the stuff I remember really well aka the stuff Channel 10 repeated all the time. This episode is great of course. So many characters get an appearance.

Season 3 Episode 20 "Colonel Homer". Aired March 26th, 1992.

Great episode guest starring Beverly D'Angelo (Chevy Chase's wife in the Vacation movies and Edward Norton's mum in American History X) as Lurleen Lumpkin.

Different experience watching it as an adult than a kid.

More or less. Started episode 1 now near the end of season 3.
I would love to be able to do the same but my mrs hates The Simpsons. And I pretty much know my favourite episodes - but would definitely (and gladly!) watch them again.

A mate at work recently gave me seasons one and two (I had 3-10 for him), I've not seen many of the very early ones from that period, I really need to get around to watching them.

Season 3 is where it starts to rise IMO.

All McBain clips put together to make the hidden 'McBain movie'

The second one where his partner gets shot a million times: I'm pretty sure Channel 10 cut that down to keep a PG rating.

There's been a few times in the past where I've seen an episode on Foxtel and saw a line or bit I'd never noticed. Ten cut stuff out to avoid M ratings.

They also butchered it worse back when the 6pm episodes had to be G.

I remember having to tape Natural Born Kissers (last episode of season 9) because it was falsely advertised as "adults only" and aired at 8.30pm or something.

Season 3 Episode 23 "Bart's Friend Falls in Love". Aired May 7th, 1992.

Laughed ******* hard at this:

Season 3 Episode 24 "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?".
Aired August 27th, 1992.

The second and final* appearance of Homer's half-brother Herb played by Danny DeVito.

Season 4 Episode 2 "A Streetcar Named Marge". Aired October 1st, 1992.

Great episode. Singing numbers from the characters. Jokes at Ayn Rand's expense. Homer is a hilarious prick.

There was a period in the mid 2000s channel 10 showed these 'adults only' episodes at like 8.30pm fairly regularly... wasn't too hard convicning mum to let me stay up
