The next Carey is 27 now and still without AA Honors

The most over rated piece of shit in the AFL. A year ago he was comically being spoken about in the same sentence as Franklin, when all he really is is a good, honest contributor. In fact, his constant glory hunting and “me first” attitude probably even robs him of that accolade.

His faux toughness is on show against a smaller opponent or when their back is turned....he literally looked scared when Dunn was pushing him and giving him shit last night.

Flogarty is learning all his moves...

"The Crows rolled the dice at selection, going with five forwards over 190cm in wet conditions.
Pyke conceded it's something they will have to revisit, but didn't think it was the major difference in the result."

No, the major difference was that those forwards, as well as the rest of the team were not prepared to run and fumbled when they did.

The major difference is that Pyke has built a pretty well oiled machine out of a bunch of parts he bought from Paramount Browns. When a few of the more important cogs in his machine aren’t there the entire thing stops working.
Players like Hartigan, Ratkins etc are really being exposed as the plodders they are at the moment while a few important parts of Pyke’s machine are missing. It needs to be firing on all cylinders or it’s utterly useless. He simply doesn’t have the quality there to pull games out of the fire.

His “angry” face does make me laugh.

Didn’t want to get his hands dirty again last night. Wants everything on his terms. He’s maybe one rung up from Jenkins in this regard.

Watching their SANFL team the other week I don’t think they have many sub 190 players to choose from.

Are you starting to see why I said that Adelaide would miss the eight? Their list profile isn’t built for the modern game. Their strength comes from their players playing specific roles, and is too inflexible to deal with any variation or challenge to how they should operate in those roles. And that comes from a list manager and drafting strategy that was built around the “key position players good, every other position bad” strategy of Hamish Ogilvie.

Winning against Richmond in an emotionally charged game and a shit St Kilda didn’t mean anything. Their defensive and forward line setups are too slow and stoic to cope with the modern idea of rolling defensive pressure.

Collingwood isn’t even that good and had a lot of players missing. They simply exposed Adelaide on national television for the strategic frauds they are.

Such a crying shame.

Apart from the incredible shutdown and attacking job that Steele Sidebottom did, Brodie Grundy started and finisehed so much by not only winning more of the taps than Jacobs, and definitely more to advantage, but he did a huge job around the ground. Hayes has barely started his career but Billy looks like he would be ready to step up soon. My only concern there is that he will only come under consideration when Ryder has recovered and will then be left to languish in the SANFL as Ken goes with makeshift jobs on the odd occasion Ryder is unable to play.

When a potato like atkins is in your best players you know its time for a rebuild.

I didn't watch any of it so woke up to delightful shock..............delightful. At least it wasn't wet and cold for them...
I watched telly last night. Caught a great show too, went for hours. From a warm and cosy spot I watched a much needed cold front
move across the city. Apparently caused by a "low pressure" system. Welcome relief and good for the state.

Fogarty will be a good player but has the tank of a scooter and is at that awkward height
Heard all these comments before but directed at Jake Stringer. Still need to be convinced Fogarty will be anything more than “so much potential”.

Just gotta sink the boot in on Sunday.
A great chance to put some space between us and the swamps.
If we can knock off Essendon, which they did not, we can move chuffly onto our home deck for my favourite round of footy for out first night game of the season.
carn ports.
