We went to KGV with a couple of magpie fans. We watched the Sydney academy team, that gets more funding than our whole state league, that has ex AFL experienced coaches all over it, get sliced up. Tassie were very impressive today. They played a great brand of footy. The young lad from North Launy, Tarryn Thomas, was particularly impressive. One bit of play where he twisted out from 3 players & snapped a 55 metre goal over his left shoulder mad us gasp a bit. Very classy kid that one. Tassie spread, ran, tackled with purpose. We were quite impressed.

Glenorchy started well & looked in control. I was surprised how many young kids they had in. They seemed to lose their way after 1/2 time. They could have won it but stuffed up so many chances to score. Full credit to Clarence who just kept at it & the pressured the young kids into error. A wins a win I guess.

Neither team will worry Launy or North Launy as the season progresses. Not that it matters any more. :(

Had a shower of rain around 1/2 time in the Tas v Syd game. The TSL started at 1pm it started getting wind by 1/2 time. It blows across the ground at KGV but it got pretty strong. Not really enough to affect the game too much I didn't think.
 
There has been talk of a NQ side getting into the NEAFL too. Cool - NQ v Tassie at either Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville or more likely Cazaly's in Cairns, me living halfway in between...I could turn a blind eye to sacrificing the future of grassroots Tasmanian football for that...!
