Hopefully Freo will make some sort of statement regarding the shite that's been thrown around the media the last few days.
Yes that has been extremely disappointing, either go one way or the other to shut down the media bonfire. If they have been heavily involved in this then they need to come clean, by staying silent it almost seems like they are wanting the story to keep running so Ross does eventually does throw it in and save them more money on the payout.

Grandstan I've made it very clear that self propagating circles of the same discussion is pointless and we need new content to continue the discussion.

We are at the point where journalists are quoting other journalists to make a story. It's making stories out of stories, it's crazy.

New content and we keep going, AFL, Fremantle FC or Lyon comment and we keep going - unless that comment is "nothing to see here, can't say anything etc etc"

Same rubbish as the whole time and it's done, we are done, it's closed and people can take their innuendo to the main rumour board.

It's a shame Freo supporters can't talk about this situation without the pointless needling that comes from rival supporters.

I hope they come out and say this:

"We are aware of today's reports by Fairfax Media," CEO Steve Rosich said in the statement.

"We want to reiterate what we have said previously on a number of occasions and which has been reinforced by the AFL.

"This was a workplace matter that has been resolved by the club and independently investigated by the AFL's Integrity Unit at the request of the club, the subject of the complaint and with due respect and care for our former employee.

"With regard to the requested investigation under the AFL's Respect and Responsibility Policy, the league completed it some months ago to the AFL's and the club's full satisfaction and no sanction was imposed.

"At the core of the AFL's Respect and Responsibility policy are guidelines around maintaining and respecting the privacy of all parties, and we will continue to abide by that and will not comment any further."

The exact same thing they have said all along.

SEN article out. Reported that they have followed up with both Work Ccover and Work Safe about this issue and both have said that they have not received any complaint consistent with the reporting.

So with the alleged money paid, it was a purely a settlement sorted out between both parties legal teams. There was no 3rd party dictating the agenda. Not sure if that adds anything to the discussion aside from confirming that some of these stories in the media stating that Work Cover got involved had some mayonnaise put on.

I have had a lot of discussion on the main board about this.

All references to workcover (that I can find) are just journalists "understanding" or "believing" or "have had the AFL insist" that it was a workcover issue.

Literally not a single place where the AFL or Freo have come out and explicitly said it was workcover. It is a story about a story.

Rosich statement above and previously has never, as far as I am aware, referred to Work Cover or Work Safe so no one has been 'caught out'.

I would suggest those newspapers printing that have been caught out.

And those who want to cloud the air with "what-ifs" and innuendo from within our own ranks.
Who was right? Those who said it was a media concoction we should ignore, or those who said gird yourself, this is going to get worse before it gets better?

We will find out later, won't we.

Even the person who runs around screaming "we are all going to die!" is right eventually.
