Prediction R9: Changes vs Swans

Prepare for Johnson to get absolutely toweled up by whichever of Ronke/Papley/Hayward/Rohan gets played on him. I'd have played Nyhuis down back and released Duman a bit up forward but I guess we'll continue wasting games on a cooked Johnson.

DP playing his role. Enjoyed his game last week but it's the game.

Duman has a few things to work on. Actually worried we might turn him into Sutty mk2

I don't have those same concerns because I think his kicking is great.

But, he nearly cost us quite a few goals in the last game, it was awareness and pace of the game mistakes. He will settle and come again perhaps even on a wing.

Compare it to other clubs in that same time span, Richmond had their share of injuries prior to last year they happened to get some luck in that department which no doubt helped them lift the cup.

Comparing our injury list to other clubs only highlights the other clubs that also have poor medical staff at the time. Sometimes teams go up and down the injury ladder, probably highlighting changes to their staff/program with a bit of bad/good luck thrown in. We just keep trotting out very long injury lists every single season. It's not just bad luck.

Have you ever switched GPs or specialists or dentists and gone ... "geez, this one is a lot better/worse than the last one I went to". Because I have. Just because they are medical professionals, doesn't mean they are all equally good. And our medical team is clearly one of the worst in the AFL, even if worst means still very good compared with the whole medical fraternity.

Buddy's not the sort of player you name, just to be a late out IMO. Think he plays.
Easily the best forward in the comp atm and will be a tough matchup for Pearce, having said that ... It may play into our hands if they overuse him. Pearce is arguably the best lockdown KPD in the comp atm and Ryan is a very good zone off player, overusing Buddy would really play into Luke's hands I rekon and given his importance to us offensively, could actually be a win.
Will be an interesting match-up, but hopefully is not ALL bad news that he's back (+ I kept him in my Supercoach team through injury so it's not all that bad!)

Buddy won't play.

Good changes from a freo perspective and glad Nyhuis and Crowden (would be absurd to drop him due to a few holdong the ball calls) are still in.

Every chance Danyle comes in Ballas if he doesn't get up or god forbid Fyfe depending on his niggle.

The crowd are already in the gate by then, so Sydney won't mind.

Just saw this. Interadasting

Felt Pearce stiff too.

Fair enough if it’s 50-50 call between 2 players but Crowden had a shocker and had been hanging on IMO.

That said SCG should suit Crowden much more then Pearce.

Hannebery and Franklin in is a massive combo for them. Hope they’re underdone.

Don't think the club could have kept in both Pearce and Johnson (and the other 3 30+ guys).

I just hope there’s full transparency.

One minute it’s ‘work your way in, work your way out’ now it seems youth is the priority.

Pearce 100% doesn’t deserve to be omitted before others based on the last game.

Feel free to check my posts. I’ve ripped Pearce in many comments and couldn’t understand his inclusion but having been included he didn’t deserve to be dropped.

I just hope Pearce was treated with respect during the process. Something like ‘mate, we’re short some run and experience and would like you to play against the Saints, but obviously you’re aware of our longer term outlook and we’ll continue to play the youngsters down the track.’

I’m sure he has. Rosco made a point in the lead up to Round two that Danyle deserved respect as 260 odd game player.

He was very lucky to get a game round 1 and played terrible. Short of cattle in round 8 he got a game and did quite well.

He travelled from my understanding so still in the mix. I agree with you that I’d prefer Crowden be dropped to Peel and D. Pearce is stiff but he was certainly in the mix of 4-5 to come out.

Johnson not a ‘managed out’ for this away game unlike the previous 2 is interesting.
