Are you counting Melbourne as a loss? Go look who they've beaten

Its a 50/50 and yes I am being conservative thinking we wont win all the 50/50 games, so have pencilled in a loss. They are very beatable I agree. As I said at the start of this thread 5-1 over this six game stretch was an achievable objective.

First we need to beat Freo.

I'm usually the first to say we should take this season one week at a time...
But it would be an absolute gem if we beat Melbourne on QB

I dont really have any special interest in beating Melbourne except for their ladder position. We are currently equal with them on points (although they have a game in hand). Its an eight point game we need to win if we want to eye a top four position.

If Collingwood can beat an in-form Melbourne side it gives me hope we can be consistent with our wins against lesser teams.

Beating Melbourne, we've beaten 1 top 8 team and been dealt with by the others
Yes something easily overlooked this season. We can't match it with the best... I remember in our premiership we were given one of the toughest draws in the fixture and knew we were a chance when we beat both Geelong and St Kilda. This year we were were given one of the easiest draws in the competition and still can't beat any contenders. Until we beat Richmond I'm not sold on making finals.

currently 6 wins:
Freo W
Melb L
Carlton W
Suns W
Essendon W
WCE W
Norf L
Richmond L
Swans L
Bris W
Port L
Freo W

I've done that purely of exposed form and ladder position. I expect us to drop one or two we shouldn't and win one or two we weren't expected to. We will get 13 wins at least and play finals.

We beat Adelaide.

North at the G? I'd be extremely disappointed if we can't out run them.

The next 2 games are absolutely vital. Both 8 point games.
If we win against the dockers, we probably knock them out of the race for the 8. If we lose, we will fall out the 8.
The Melbourne game is interesting it might show us if we are top 4 quality. I would love to beat the Dee’s. Going into the bye 8-4, sets us up well for a top 8 spot and to try for a top 4.

Adelaide are not contenders this year. Ravage by injury and a short preseason these guys are on and off. Certainly not the barometer of the competition.

Easy to say after the event. I'll take an away win against the reigning Grand Finallist every day of the week. Their injury list was no worse than ours when we played them. Its got worse since.

We are currently 1-1 against teams in the top eight!! Due to our ladder position last years we have been gifted a reasonable draw with double up games against Essendon Carlton Fremantle and Brisbane. If that helps us make finals then great. North are also benefitting from this.

Just need to keep setting up our season, beat the teams we should beat, and see how we go when we meet Sydney Melbourne Richmond (again) West Coast and North. A bit harsh judging us for not beating top eight sides if we havent played them yet. Theres no reason why we cant win some of those games if we get some players back and continue to bring the same game we are currently bringing.

A bit early to say we struggle against top 8 teams. We lost the first two games before we clicked. Since then weve lost to Richmond off a four day break - I don't think you can read too much into that, and had a shocker against the Cats. I'd only look at the cats and the Crows games, one win and one loss against top 8.

Goes without saying but this week is incredibly important. The top nine teams are all playing off against the bottom 9 teams. If results all go as expected, we'd only stay in 8th position (maybe jump to 7th, depending on percentage). A win would help create a bit of a buffer between us and the teams that are outside the top 8. Of course there will be 1 or 2 upsets (as there usually are), so we've got to make sure we're not one of them!

I don't reckon we'll beat them.

Melbourne will be very tough and we'd be monty's for the underdog tag. They've got a really healthy list in terms of their best 22, and they've got a pretty stable side. They're the key ingredients for playing good footy. I think they'll also want to make a point after we knocked them out of finals last year.

1 (Crows) - 2 (Tigas, Cats)

not as bad as it sounds.

We beat Adelaide, lost to Geelong by three goals and only got blown away by Richmond in the last quarter after being very competitive.

We're yet to play West coast, Melbourne, North and Sydney.

So it's a sample size of three.

Need to get 1 win from the next 2 as a minimum. Demons will be a tough ask, but if we are serious about doing any damage in finals these are the games we need to be competitive in.
