Qhampion Data is back - but not as you know it.

Once a rankings thread, QD has been rebooted by yours truly as a true counterpart to Champion Data, who I work for in real life. The goal of QD is simple - to provide more in-depth match statistics to SFA posters, with the goal of providing discussion points and bragging rights.

So far, these are the stats I want to cover:

Contested/uncontested possessions
Contested/uncontested marks
Disposal efficiency (effective/ineffective/clangers)
One percenters (spoils/smothers/bumps)
Centre clearances
Hit outs to advantage
Inside/rebound 50s

The stats will be individually collected by me and will largely come down to my interpretation from the sim. For example:

3 : 17.23 {C} - Easy tapout for ShaunDuggan.
3 : 17.32 {lW} - GotTheGoodes has it. What can he do with it?.

This would be a hitout to advantage for ShaunDuggan and an uncontested possession and centre clearance to GotTheGoodes.

1 : .38 {C} - Handpass to space. JT_The_Man runs onto it.
1 : .43 {C} - Huge handpass to NickCC. As good as a kick.
1 : .46 {CHF} - No-look handpass to U2tigers.

I would interpret this as an inside 50 to NickCC due to the fact that it was a long handball from JT_The_Man, putting the ball close to the 50 metre arc.

1 : 14.58 {lW} - He kicks sideways towards Cactus_.
1 : 15.02 {lW} - Firestarter did enough to prevent a mark being taken.

This would be a spoil to Firestarter.

You get the idea.

I plan on giving Qhampion Data a test run for the Season 25 Grand Final, so stay tuned, and enjoy the stats.

This stuff would be magic to have - but it sounds like an almiiiighty bother to put together (especially as an individual).
I suspect a lot of sim commentary will be ambiguous when it comes to many of these aspect also, right?
That said I am eager for the results and if it seems manageable and effective in some way I'd gladly join the team for next season.

We'll see how it goes after the grand final test, and yes - 85% of the struggle will be sim interpretation. But as I have said many times, I have so much time on my hands at work.

True. But it would be hard to co-ordinate and motivate that many people. At the end of the day, it's something I enjoy doing and will probably make me the poster with the most knowledge of the season and how it's tracking, having read through every game.

I'll make a new stat called the 'switcheroo' and let's see whose coach hates them the most across a season.
