MOON BOOT OFF THIS WEEK! :fearscream:

Defender Marty Gleeson has made good progress in recent weeks and is set for an exciting milestone as he prepares to remove his moon boot after a busy week on the medical front.

“Marty’s been back to see the specialist and had an x-ray. Very positive report, it shows really good healing of his fracture.

“He’s still got to get a CT result, which is another scan. When we get that, if it shows as good a healing as the x-ray did then he’ll be out of the moon boot and starting his progression up to running and then to playing.

“So Marty will have his fingers crossed for that result tonight.”

Still had the moon boot on yesterday post match.
IIRC Crow said it would come off during this week, then build his running into potentially playing VFL. The way I read that is that he'll probably play VFL against either Casey or Richmond, can't see him building into a game for Box Hille.

Yup. Moon boot off during the last week and then scans to make sure it’s okay.

If the boot is still on then I wonder if the scans came back with some sort of issue..

nah, if there was some kind of issue, they’d be playing him already.

I'd say that both parties want the flexibility of a two year deal.

Why commit to him for three years now when he's not playing and could be overtaken by others.

Nothing stops us extending the deal.
Why? Has not played this year. 2 years is perfect for both parties.
I think right now he's definitely top 15 and maybe even top 10 on our list. I prefer to see such players locked in for longer, but I can understand why they did 2 years.

My boy is the best intercept player on the team due to the fact he both intercepts and attacks instinctively. Hooker is better at cutting off kicks but is too slow moving the ball.

Hopefully this injury won't have any long term effects. Is very important to our backline going forward.

Martin Gleeson: I'm the best attacking/intercepting defensive player we have!

Aaron Francis: Hold my beer....

You can't remember back as far as last year I take it?
I seem to recall him getting tossed aside by gary rohan
Terrible post. We've missed him hugely!
I'd rather see ridley and or francis in that role for the future. Gleeson is too small to be the 3rd tall and doesn't have enough toe or strength in a tackle to be in the other roles for mine.

Give him half a year outta footy and people are carrying on like he placed in the b&f or something.
