F1 Championship 2018 - Round 8 - France

F1 Returns to the Paul Ricard Circuit for the first time since 1990 (before my time). From what I saw of FP1 it looks like a very quick circuit with wide run off areas and some long corners. Reminds me most of the US/Bahrain/Abu Dhabi tracks. Expect this to favour the cars with a good engine, and Mercedes will finally have their upgraded engine available to them.

These blue lines are going to give me a seizure.

Turn 6 is going to play havoc if the wind changes affect the downforce so badly.

Huge smack into the barrier by Ericsson on Turn 11. Those lines did not slow him down anywhere near enough. Needed a gravel trap there.

Car was on fire and he sat there. He didn't even realise. Marshals seemed to react quite slow there.

Have they said what the cause was? It looked odd. Would they be penalised if it was a wheel failure?

The conditions certainly aren't so nice for driving in now!

It was strange but I think the pit crew stuffed up

The teams only got 10 mins of running in FP3 due to rain. The race and qualy may be wet.
Looking forward to qualifying. Could swap things up a bit if your not on the track at the right time.

Verstappens reduced downforce seems to be working a treat. Can Ricciardo change his too or does that Parc ferme stop aero changes in qualifying?

Parc ferme is no aero changes. Not sure if front wing angle can be changed, it can at the first stop.

With the forecast, I think they are starting on wets. If not its a bit of a mix of tyre up the front.

Slowed on his last lap so he didnt have to start on that tyre. He had a message from the pit wall.
