Here we go, always focus on a negative and some scape goat this week it’s Polson FMD

Every body gets a turn on the Wheel of Negativity … all fair I say Eskie ;)

Don't think it's any coincidence Dow and SPS have their best games for the year when Kennedy is back in the team. Allows them to play more on the outside instead of having their smaller bodies beaten up in the packs.

Make no mistake, having Kennedy become a best 22 staple is a very important piece of the puzzle
There was a moment in the game yesterday where Kennedy started a fight with Pendlebury and another C'wood midfielder. He was jumper punching two blokes at the same time, one with each hand. I had this massive grin just watching this bloke stand his ground giving it to them. He absolutely loves a scrap, going to be huge with Cripps the next few years.

Cripps is the best in the comp and Charlie is Kouta but will be better.
For starters, Charlie is a better kick than Kouta. But he has a fair way to go to catch the great man.

I disagree that it's a fair way.

Once we get him more frequency of incoming ball, he will be the equal of or better than #43. Kouta took 5 years to get his motor running, was never doing was Charlie is doing at year 3

I haven’t seen the game yet but heard he provided a lot of pressure...if true that’s got to be a step in the right direction...

I did, on the box this week.

Pressure wise it was a decent game. But yesterday and even previously for the NB's he just isn't getting the numbers he did at the start.

And yesterday could've been better too but on a number of occasions Cam just takes that little bit too long in possession or gets pushed aside in the contest

Traits that weren't there at the start

Go back and read the comments on the promise he showed as a genuine mid - a Murphy replacement was a common thought

Shame that it hasn't and may not come to fruition. Why is the question I'm asking? IMO our player development is still sub par, NB's still not the best environment for our players to improve

If he was on open market clubs would be falling over themselves to sign him up for over a million a year. Would make the Boyd deal look like nothing.
SOS timing perfect to sign him up long term for unders.
Spot on, wouldn’t say unders - it’s a very astute price guide. Charlie will be happy he’s on good coin but not over the top, it sets the ceiling extremely well. I’m tipping Crippa only signs for a touch more- I doubt he will be $1m per season, not that he’s not worth it (Charlie as well) but the two of them set the ceiling & we have cap space to pay everyone well. It’s great leadership, smart planning & great list strategy. Everyone ends up happy.

Hard to compare to the 2 coming from different eras. Kouta would so much be more suited to todays football of running all over the field like Charlie, whereas he was played in more stationary roles in early parts of his career as he couldn't crack the midfield due to the class in there at the time.
Either way, looking forward to Charlie showing his wares in the Navy Blue jumper

Not sure if this has been said but
At the end of 3rd where were always going to lose, why not Rowe back and weiters up forward as a plan c?

Football is versatility these days
I wouldn’t of gave a crap if he got 0 possessions and gave 2 free kicks away
We were always going to lose so why not try something?

That’s the type of things that shit me each week.

We can’t go any worse as we have one win for season

Morning after the day before and couldn't be happier. So much upside. Will be able to watch Charlie for the next decade.

Proves again the club is heading in the right direction and is a happy club.

PS Interesting a number of posters seem to be missing in the last 24 hours. Pity ;)
And isn't it a blessing !

Was thinking the same thing after the game yesterday.

Cripps: 29 disp @ 82% (15k, 14hb), 20 contested. 3 goals, 9 score involvements, 7 marks, 7 clearances, 9 tackles, 187 SC points and 26.6 in AFL player ratings. Did most of his work around the wing according to his heat map, with the 3rd quarter being mostly in the middle and forward line.
AFL website is normally right on top of updating the player ratings for the round leaders. Still showing last weeks!

Charlie! What can you say? 3 goals, 19 touches, 10 marks, 6 inside 50s and 2 screamers (I saw 2 big ones, not sure if more, as missed most of the 2nd half).
Best game for Dow and best Carlton game for Kennedy.
Jones was pretty good too. Everyone remembers the one or two mistakes that he makes and clings to them.

The morning after the game....still ****ing proud.

Cripps monstered that game. 3 votes. 4 votes for making Taylor Adams shit himself.
Kennedy plenty of room for improvement, but he seems to have really good special awareness in the contest and is able to cut through traffic well for a bloke his size and speed.
Fisher never gonna be a high volume player, but geez he does some spectacular stuff when he gets it.
SPS looks better playing off the ball. I know he was/is a midfielder, but he's so good in space it just makes sense to play him on a HFF.
Dow stepped up, reckon he plays better when the pace of the game is up - seems to lift his intensity to match.
O'Brien showed a harder edge which will put him in really good stead moving forward. Can see why the selectors keep picking him.
Simmo is evergreen. I still think the end will come very quickly when it does arrive...holy cow it would be great to get two more years out of him and get him to 400 and finals.
Charlie finally started holding his marks. Has threatened all year and only had one or two really strong games to date, but this was a great sign. Benefited a lot from a stronger team performance.
Daisy loves a battle. I love that Daisy loves a battle. Sets a great example for the kids.
Rowe impressed me. A lot. 30 secs before the opening bounce gets sent to full forward. Half time gets sent to the ruck. Yeah, he did some Rowe things, but he also lead when he played forward (that's right Levi....it's called LEADING), and stopped Grundy from being his usual influential self in the second half.

Not much I didn't like, to be honest.

Injuries suck, but might work in our favour from a "play the kids" perspective.
O'Shea...look, his prep was probably shot given he literally had to run down to the rooms as the game was being played to get his gear on, but we may have been better off playing one short.
Garlett...please, lay a few tackles. The only other players who matched your 0 tackle return were the two blokes who were off by half time.

Changes:
Krezuer -> Phillips
Casboult/O'Shea -> McKay
Plowman -> Lang
Garlett -> Pickett

Simpson, Rowe, Jones
Thomas, Weitering, Mullett
O'Brien, E. Curnow, Lang
Phillips, Cripps, Kennedy
Fisher, C. Curnow, SPS
Wright, McKay, Pickett
I/C: Dow, Polson, Silvagni, Lamb
