And he's put forward a way to both make that happen and not have the matchup look s**t.Eddie is the one who insists that Carlton not wear a clash against them.
I think the problem is the Home and away element. Collingwood is keen on keeping the black shorts for home and that's within their rights. The blame should be on Carlton for not supplying a clash kit for this occasion, for they are the visiting team. Collingwood was able to pull it off in Rd 3 so it's expected that Carlton do the same. There's no reason they cannot.Simple solution - you Vics could actually try removing a clash instead of hanging onto pride etc.
Collingwood wear the white based guernsey with white shorts and Carlton wear their navy blue (guernsey and shorts). Seemed to work ok in the below game. Why change back to being stupid?
Two games per year with each club hosting one. The Carlton home game is easy but the Collingwood home game is the one causing problems, largely because both clubs want Carlton to wear blue. If Collingwood wish to wear a predominantly black jumper Carlton should go back to white.Simple solution - you Vics could actually try removing a clash instead of hanging onto pride etc.

Which he doesn't deserve praise for because it's the same solution everyone else came up with when he first insisted that Carlton wear Navy away to Collingwood. And he's put forward a way to both make that happen and not have the matchup look s**t.
THIS.Ed, go one step further and change back to the black on white forever.
Collingwood want Carlton to wear blue. They can’t have it both ways - wear black shorts and have Carlton wear navy blue (with either blue or white shorts).I think the problem is the Home and away element. Interesting developments!
The shorts thing will be interesting, I can't see the AFL forcing Collingwood into white shorts for a home game.
Tbh if they both were dark shorts it would be a better option than Carlton wearing white.
No.Putting aside the obvious solution, if Eddie's hell bent on black shorts would putting Carlton in light blue shorts provide sufficient contrast?
If Collingwood wears their home strip Carlton needs to be in a light jumper regardless of whether their shorts are baby blue, white, fluro green....Putting aside the obvious solution, if Eddie's hell bent on black shorts would putting Carlton in light blue shorts provide sufficient contrast?
An alright matchup, but our current clash jumper would be perfect for every occasion. When Carlton is away, Collingwood wear clash with black shorts. When Collingwood is away, we wear our full clash kit.Just to refresh everybodys memory...

He does deserve praise for finally getting there. He, a person whose voice holds a helluva lot of weight, has got there, and voiced this, and something will likely happen. Little old you and me on Bigfooty don't have that kind of volume.Which he doesn't deserve praise for because it's the same solution everyone else came up with when he first insisted that Carlton wear Navy away to Collingwood.
No he doesn't because he's still not there anyway. He does deserve praise for finally getting there.
Then where is he? You yourself said he has got to the same solution everyone else came up with. So he IS there. It's hard to see clearly through the anger. No he doesn't because he's still not there anyway.
magpienato what's that they say about great minds.........Simple solution, bring back the swooping magpie and make it predominately white
Apparently he's insisting on black shorts. Then where is he? You yourself said he has got to the same solution everyone else came up with. So he IS there. It's hard to see clearly through the anger.
