Yeh its a worry when a race where overtaking happened is still boring for large patches.

Overtaking was always the biggest highlight in F1 but I think DRS stuffed that up

Its the aero under the car that stuffs things up, not DRS. The dirty air being expelled from under the car is the problem. The sooner they ban it the better. Make them have a flat floor pan and the difference would be massive.
