A track with a 80% safety car chance where it was warm and tires were degrading and everyone was understeering like crazy the whole race.

Yeah sacrificing track position seemed like the percentage play for sure. Just terrible luck.

Bottom line Dan needs to outqualify Verstappen sometime soon so he has preferable strategy, but what you're doing at the time in the race should be taken more into account and not just pissed up the wall on a whim like it seemingly was today.

2008 was pretty good from Lewis.
I agree though that his efforts in the hybrid era are more to do with the amazing Mercedes car than anything else.
