If we only win one game (almost a certainty), the AFL would look ridiculous not awarding one.

Yep exactly. This points to an complete incompetence on behalf of the board. Imagine the outcry if we actually were to get one now after stating we don't require one??. Club is being run by a bunch of amateurs.

Honestly just poor all round. Even SOS letting go of better players to bring in Shaw types. I just don’t get what is going on with the club. They all must have an idea in their head of what this rebuild is suppose to look like but it has failed. You think Bolton and SOS would have been happy with a 1-22 season in the 3rd year of a rebuild had they known from day dot? I think they would have done things differently to be honest. This club is cursed.

So club would be happy for this? rather than having the following

I'd like to believe that the AFL is a rational, fair and wouldn't given unfair advantage to one of their franchises....... nor attempt to sweep a club wide performance enhancing drug use program under the carpet.

The club let the media get to them in regards to the priority pick. You don’t say you don’t want a pick midway through the season. I wonder if they are regretting saying that now? That was very disappointing. We have the worst list any club has had since the Fitzroy days and we don’t need a priority pick apparently? Ok.

Correct re: PP, seen as too much of an advantage (though probably needed).

Compo is a different beast and will be awarded after a club’s 1st round pick.

WE DONT NEED TO APPLY. It is up to the AFL to use their disgression. Now it's put to bed so no need to hear any more about the matter

sorry if this a silly question but wouldn't you have to apply for one to get consideration? I mean have they ever offered a pp to a club that did not ask for it in the first place?

Not required to ask. If we do, that can be taken into consideration by the AFL when deciding if we get one. There is a criteria and then AFL discretion.

Need to send them tapes of Cornes assessments of the club. Would be hard pressed to show why we didn’t need a PP given the bleak state of everything.

Who did Silvagni let go of to bring in Shaw/Mullett/O'Shea? What did the latter group cost?
