They made similar promises to Sumner but after more thought, changed their minds on that too. They then tried to convince him to play for NB with a loose promise he would get picked up.

It seems like club people tell players what they want to hear, rather than being upfront and honest.

From memory Sumner turned upto to pre season training in poor condition and the rest well is history. Not a smart move from a bloke who never looked super in his time within the afl system. Hope is year at St Bedes is going well.
