How could this of been allowed as a goal? It was the direct result of Higgins throwing the ball to himself.

The fist doesn't go any where near the ball. It was clear as day on the review, even the commentators where adamant it was a throw.

Personally I couldn’t GAF about what the commentators think as the majority are ball cupping imbeciles. He made an effort to keep the ball in play according to the rules of the game.
He was never in complete control of the ball for it to be deemed a throw. Hundreds of these incidents occur on the boundary line per season. Umpires and reviewers saw it fit at the time and it was rewarded a goal . You sound like one of those Kiwis who still goes around whining about the under arm delivery saga or the Collingwood supporter that believes they beat North in that night GF when the siren rang , but the umpire didn’t hear it.
Once the event has happened and it’s been passed fit by all the umpires in control of the game then it’s all clear.

Which he didn’t, he threw it on his boot.
eggs****ingzactly....had this discussion with a few at the pub tonight, if he had have taken possession after the 'throw' then maybe it was a throw, doesn't matter cos it was in the kicking action....and I'm not sure that if you lift the ball to yourself is a throw?

No way it’s a throw. You are just keeping control of the ball. Eg. if you are juggling a mark and the ball rises in between attempts, is that a throw?
It’s only a throw if he loses control (incorrect disposal) or he passes it to another player (throw).

The argument was about the action of throwing the ball to himself before the kick.

Nah not a throw, just an interesting ball drop. Left his hand and his next contact was his foot.

All he did was throw the ball onto his boot. See it 100 times a games when someone is tackled and if they get ball to boot it’s play on

Sooooooo

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLL
