Was in the squad but wasnt a first teamer with Spain. Think he only started one game in the world cup that year and appeared in one or two others.

He wasn't starting because a couple of blokes called Andres, Xavi, Xabi and Sergio were all ahead of him. Was still an A-grade at the time you signed him.

He was highly rated but hadn't really made it at that stage.

Except most Spanish pundits thought he was world class at Valencia and one of the best midfielders in La Liga along with being a WC winner. If that's not your definition of "making it" then you must have sky high expectations.

And there were plenty of doubts that he would be able to play in England.

Unless you're Paul Merson who probably thinks big muscles>big brain, then no, you knew he'd be a jet in England.

Didn't realise Bari went upshit creek as they were in the hunt for Serie A promotion just this season gone. A hammerblow for the South that after seeing the Sicilian clubs struggle as of late, particularly Catania.

ADL to take charge of them in Serie D and beyond, but if Bari happen to rise to Serie A again, then ADL will have to sell one of Bari or Napoli as owners can't have two clubs in the one division.

The last line was interesting - "As the rules currently stand, De Laurentiis would have to sell one of Bari or Napoli if the Galletti to manage to reach Serie A." Guessing that if they draw each other in a cup game, there is no issues there?

Maybe Napoli could treat Bari as a feeder team for their youth players to try and help Bari progress back up the hierarchy (as they had to apparently release all their players).

Napoli might loan them players, but apparently a condition of the Bari mayor appointing ADL and co was that Bari does not become Napolis feeder, they have a small geographical rivalry IRL, but I'd imagine that rivalry is felt more from Bari than Napoli who gave bigger fish to fry with the Roman clubs and the northern powerhouses.

Wouldn't be surprising at all.

What does Abramovich want with Chelsea anymore, he's been there 15 years? He's won everything there is.

All while the LLDC tell keep saying that the OS is losing money annually.
Sounds like a lemon of a deal arranged by Lord Coe, West Ham and the London Mayor etc etc.
The LLDC and OS backed themselves into a corner by promising a legacy with an athletics track.

The best thing would have been to just demolish the stadium and build a new one from there, probably would have been cheaper than the renovation costs actually.

But if we didn't end up there, you would have ended up with a White Elephant Stadium that probably gets used say 4 times a year.

Well that is true, from memory when we bid for it the crux of our plan was that Levy planned to demolish it and rebuild a new one for £300m. Football only. No athletics.

Lord Coe in particular made a right hash of it. It’s a taxpayer money guzzler atm.

******* chavs. Has there ever been a more blessed club? Why one of these uber rich campaigners wouldn’t want to buy arsenal or even spurs before that wretched club is a mystery

They've got to be prepared to sell.

Arsenal.is complicated. Spurs aren't interested (for now).

Muhammad bin Salman apapparently.

Would definitely prefer a local who is at least semi invested in the club from an emotional point of view. Don’t really know much about Ratcliffe but being British, he’d at least have a love for the premier league that Abramovich and the Saudis wouldn’t necessarily have.. and would hopefully care about the image and culture of the entire club and what it stands for rather than solely buying trophies and pumping massive amounts of money in to player acquisition.

Ratcliffe is a United supporter(not that that would really matter) but is also a Chelsea season ticket holder.
