I think in particular Ben would be a really good pick up. I know Bevo would love his versatility and with his height he's got the potential to be that guy to lock down on the big dominant key forwards. A role we still don't really have anyone to play despite our key defensive stocks.

I agree it would be a good move. Ben King could take on gorilla forwards and possibly swing forward.

We'll be a bottom 6 crap team for the next 2 seasons, so we can pick up some gun mids then.

I am looking forward to finals again (and making an impact) in 2021.

I’m pretty confident the draft will go something like this:

Carlton - Walsh (suits the list)
GC - Lucocious (replace Lynch)
GC - Rankine (two Adelaide boys)
Brisbane - Smith (talls in Academy)
Saints - Max King (best available)
Dogs - Ben King (best available)

I’m pretty sure we will simply pick best available instead of list needs with Rozee.

I will note that Bevo mentioned recently that the list is ‘healthy’ on talls. - smoke and mirrors perhaps.

I will put it this way - I just can’t see any of the teams before us picking B King. And put simply he is just too good for us to let slip. Based on potential he has a much bigger scope to impact the list moving forward then Rozee.

Just saw the name De Koning and crawled into a ball on the floor and started shaking, the bad bad memories that come with that name

Adams (WA) Young (SA) Naughton (WA) Cordy (premiership hero)

No doubt that SA and WA clubs will be getting into the first 3s ears, King could be the right fit for us. allows us to hit all 3 areas.

King FB
Buku HBF
West inside mid/mid forward

Drafting to fill needs you don't have due to fear of losing good players, sound self defeating.

How about we just draft best available and perhaps look for a small trade a few picks up the draft board.

I'm not convinced that Rozee isn't the best player available, the kid is highly talented in his own right and seems to be hitting some form of late. He was named in the best players in the SANFL seniors last weekend and he's been playing very well prior to that by all reports.

Remember Bont only started to hit form around this time too.

Yes I understand that it’s potentially not clear cut who is best available between B King and Rozee.

To be honest I would be happy either way.

Getting another high level talent into the list is very exciting. The list has soo much talent... I’m listening to SEN now... bloody hell im happy we’re not in the saints position!

Reports the AFL will give them a priority pick too. That’s seriously got to be a joke. They’ve finished 9th, 11th and now 15th these last few seasons. They’ve lost experienced players so of course they were going to struggle. The AFL has just got to get rid of priority picks permanently. It does nothing to fix clubs’ problems

Spot on. PPs are just another way in which the AFL can tamper with what little integrity the comp has.

No PPs. No COLA or cap discrepencies. Fix the FIXture. No kneejerk rule changes on the run. No rule of the week.

One rider. For the northern clubs in non footy states, Id be prepared to give them extra in the soft cap to attract quality off field talent in order to build in these tough markets.

Giving PP make no sense anyway.

If clubs like Carltank and GC need to be competitive it's no good making them competitive in 5 years time when the extra player they get starts maturing.

They need experienced players not 17 yo kids.

In 5 years time Cripps and Curnow will be dominant players- and they won't need another first rounder (on top of the other 20 they already have). Just pointless.

It’s both bizarre and stupid that they would give the saints a priority pick when they smashed Carlton by 70pts....the league is an absolute sham. It seriously has no credibility. The AFL created this mess by tampering with drafts when GWS and Gold Coast came in. So what is their solution? Tamper further with the draft.

Do you include NSW as a non-footy northern state? Or do you just mean Qld?

The many leg-ups Sydney and GWS have had are a large part of the distortion of the AFL.
