I really don't know what they were thinking with this. Doesn't seem very different from the last one and then you come out and attack some of the fanbase for wanting a game that at least looks like a WW2 battle, not some ridiculously customised battle like Fortnite.

I'll still buy it because I liked the last one. It will probably actually play alright and aren't the map packs free this time around? That was the biggest thing that killed the last one for me.
 
My preorder code hasn't come through for some reason but anybody can pre load the beta right now for the people who are planning on giving it a go.

Don't know for a fact about on Xbox but definitely can on PS4.

Yeah looks like I'll have to stop in tomorrow afternoon. Their Facebook team told me to keep an eye on my emails... not sure how that is more helpful than giving me a code then and there.

Nah XBOX unfortunatley.

The snow map is horrible. Guns sound like fire crackers and you can't hear footsteps. 3d spotting gone which makes it hard to spot people making it super campy.

I've had to adjust to move alot slow going from open door to open door. Guns have a fair amount of kick and it is alot quicker to kill than Bf1.

Yeah agree with all of that.
I played about 3 full rounds and it feels like there's nothing special about the game at all comparing it to previous titles.
The sound of the guns felt flat and the sound of footsteps almost doesn't exist. Spotting is also completely useless now.
I couldn't join a squad either which was a pain in the ass having such limited spawn options.

I only played as medic and while the gunplay felt pretty good (perhaps a little floaty...slightly cod'like) i felt like I was contributing bugger all to the team while still topping the leaderboard which is an extremely strange feeling for a battlefield game....
In battlefield1, every flag I'd be killing and healing people while reviving anybody I can which always made me feel like I was doing my bit to keep the team at full strength. In this, it seems (at least in the early stages) you have limited health packs to heal teammates and the revive icon is super small that you often miss teammates altogether as the timer is less forgiving this time around.

I generally go medic to help the whole team but in this I kinda just felt like another assault.

I'll give the game another go tomorrow and try out some different classes but it feels significantly inferior to the type of experience they crafted in battlefield 1 imo.
 
Also did anybody else notice how grainy the graphics look?
It's like they've added a strange filter over the whole thing and just taken it a tad too far.

The beta is now open to all on PC.

12.44gb downloading now at 5.5mb/s.

Not expecting much, the footage I've seen isn't garnering any excitement for this title at all. Looks like a re-skin to be honest...
Sterge I think we're trying this shit out tomorrow night...

Yeah this is very accurate. The first assault gun feels good but all the others feel like they are straight out of COD. The game feels like COD with destructible environment. The building tool is useless as you generally are killed before you complete, reviving is hit and miss and again the reviving time makes it not worth even trying, the medic class has been nerfed beyond being useful.

I have started flanking the far outsides of the two maps and back capping, it's almost impossible to attack a flag head on with so many windows (especially on Rotterdam). They have alot to fix before release.
 
Had one round on Rotterdam last night

Feels a lot slower than BF1, TTK seems a lot faster

I use Support Class and the TTK with Support weapon was way faster than BF1

Graphics were stunning I thought

Controls a bit buggy, if I switched to limpet mine, I couldn't switch back to main gun unless I opened the building tool, but I'm sure all that will be ironed out by full release

Couldn't join a squad which was annoying but I really just wanted to give it a quick run last night anyway

Will probably jump on for a better session tonight to try other map / game modes

Overall enjoyed it though, I can see myself sinking a lot of time into this when it releases

This same ****ing shit bug has been in the game since at least BF3. Useless ****s they are, seems they haven't even bothered trying to fix it.
 
Had a better session this morning. Squads are fixed but you are only with randoms atm. TTK is crazy fast, almost hard core level. Was less campy today, people are starting to learn the maps and move a bit more. A couple of time I've been revived and ended up with their kit. I haven't got in a vehicle yet but damn tanks are hard to take down with the current kit.
