Time will tell, I’m still not confident he’s coming to carlton I would’ve thought WA

Fun fact tell me does he play a musical instrument?

Might have to explain that Eskie, I don't get it.

Edit: Yes I do, I think, Maureen?

I honestly struggle to see how this gets done with Carlton if pick 1 isn’t part of it, see my earlier post. If your pp is in the teens, I would keep him.

The problem with wanting to keep him is he doesn’t want to be there, no one wants a disgruntled employee

Anyways time will tell

The only way I would trade him is if it heavily favours us, otherwise he stays.

Pick 1 on its own, no chance.

I wouldn’t let him go unless it was Pick 1 for Gov and 7 or a top 6 pick on its one.

This bluff that he will sit out is just that bluff. He obviously likes money and he ain’t going to refuse to pay and hurt his back pocket.
mmm.........making these "no chance ......unless" statements has bitten your mob on the bum before you'll recall........

You’re living in fantasyland if you think pick 1 on the table here, you don’t give away pick 1 for a player like McGovern. His value is nowhere near pick 1 so it doesn’t come into the equation. The only way I could see maybe pick 1 being involved is if GC get involved in a three way trade, and we end up with pick 3.

Agreed. It also suggests SOS rates him, hence he will not come cheaply in a trade.

Time will tell.

Depends on how many rocks MM's manager starts throwing at Crows "Collective Minds" windows.

Crows management are desperately trying to keep this all under wraps.

If MM's manager says "trade me for pick 19 or we spill the beans to the media" - what do you reckon Fagan/Burton will do?

PS - this is a serious question.

I understand you’re struggling to see it, because you want pick 1 so bad. If the trade was pick 1 for MM and 7, you’d probably drive to melb and drop him off yourself. What does that say about the deal?

A 3rd forward type who’s played 50% of games in the last 2 years due to injury and has only shown glimpses of being a very good player, let alone anything more, is not worth any deal involving pick 1.

At the end of the day, your club will be offered the priority pick and will accept or decline. I’m happy to know that we’ve at least done our best to destabilise a player on your list.

How did they nearly burn a chance last night? Controlled the game and were by far the better team.
Both teams were shocking for most of that game, the difference being that in addition to failing almost all four quarters, Geelong failed at selection and preparation as well. How they could pick a team with no spread is beyond me. L.Fogarty, Narkle and Cunico were just left at the selection table.

Melbourne are still a pack of headcases that refuse to stop the infantile brand of navel-gazing that is rife in half the league right now.

FROM THE DRAFTS FORUM.

Just heard on an Adelaide radio station that the deal from Carlton to Mitch is 5 years at $200k more per year than the crows.

I know it’s an Adelaide radio station and it’s just a rumour but one of the people on the radio station is Rucci who despises the crows agreed that this was correct.

So it looks like Carlton for a 5 year deal for $700k - $750k per year I would think. Surely no other team would be offering that
I don't think Mitch was on more than $375k before this (if that), so while I totally think the $200k pay bump and extra 3 years is bogus, I'm pretty confident it wouldn't result in a $750k a year contract.

Sounds like something out of Ozark

AFL still have to report on this through their integrity unit (AIU). ALFPA heads seems to think all is done & dusted on the topic however.

I wouldn’t trust anything coming out of Adelaide regarding his contract. They’ve clearly pissed him off and are trying to run with the “it’s all about an insane offer elsewhere”. They are the biggest team in a 2 team city, they shouldn’t be losing players like they are.

More likely they want supporters to think "he's only leaving for money".

Instead of "he's leaving because he thinks us Crows management are effwits".

Melbourne was far the superior team last night. Played a different game to the Cats, controlled most of it, just didn’t capitalise.

While I agree with you, I felt the umps gave the dees the upper hand.

Was at the game last night, wasn't sure the demons crowd could be so loud.

On another note, given their youth the dees have a lot to look forward to, not sure about the cats.

Exactly!
How the hell would people in Adelaide know what the contract is anyway, it’s not like he is a free agent where they get a chance to match.

Circa $400K with a nice little bump to move, I could live with but you’d think he would have had decent offers floating about last year when OOC.

That he wanted out last Oct, you’d think he was mis-managed by himself/manager. Cooling off period should have been invoked..

Looks like he's staying then.
