Lance Franklin
Lance Franklin is a giant of the game. The star Sydney Swans forward has played 300 AFL games, won two premierships with Hawthorn, is the seventh-greatest goal-kicker in VFL/AFL history, is one of just five men with eight All Australian blazers and is the most recent player to have kicked 100 goals in a season. The Western Australian is also one of just two players in the game’s history, along with former Swan and Saint Tony Lockett, to have booted 300 goals for two clubs. Franklin was added to a leadership group for the first time in his career ahead of season 2020, joining co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Callum Mills. But the 33-year-old, who was named captain of the 2018 All Australian team, has long been considered an exceptional unofficial leader, so great is his impact on Will Hayward, Nick Blakey, Ben Ronke and the rest of Sydney’s young forwards.

Lance Franklin
DOB: 30 January 1987
DEBUT: 2005
DRAFT: #5, 2004 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Dowerin (WA)/Perth (WAFL)/Hawthorn

Davis did play him extremely well today, and the delivery he got was atrocious.

Was clearly hampered. Was unable to get up the ground at all. 0 inside 50s (ave 5), 2 Marks (ave 7), 2 score involvements (ave 9), 0 tackles (ave 2).

Shouldn’t have played clearly but in saying that, McCartin didn’t fare well with even him there so I am not sure what other options were available to us.

Earlier in the year we should have tried Cameron in the ruck and Sinclair up forward but oh well.

Definately more than just a "tight" groin looks like your typical 5-6 week injury he was back playing in 3.

Imo buddy should lose a little weight. I dont think he is overweight but he doesnt require that much size especially at this point of his career. If he was contested marking player, that would be different as the extra strength would be handy, but hes not. If he lost say 5kgs, he would be much lighter on his feet and may even extend his career/form as he ages

Well if it is true he hardly trained this year then it’s hardly surprising he would have put on a little weight.

He's a man as a swan, was still just a boy before...

I think we have bulked him up a bit

Mind you the stripes are always more flattering except for the poo and wee

Anyone blaming Buddy is ignorant or trolling

See main board.
Why? You're out of line with saying it's trolling.
39 inside 50's for 0 goals & second worst rated player on the ground behind McCartin.
Davis has also be lauded with the best performance of the round by all & sundry.

Now the poor guy is obviously not right & hasn't been right for most of the year. But he ran out meaning he thought he could make a contribution. He takes a fair portion of the blame along with the midfield in the second half.

This place is gold sometimes.

No forward could have succeeded with the conditions, the injury, the delivery and the midfield smashing that Sydney compiled together on Saturday.

And I was referring to very specific, baiting posts that were clear troll attempts.

Theres a brick wall here if you want to bang your head against it

Buddy Franklin isn't just any forward though so he should have been good for one goal. Don't excuse him from being part of "the worst score in the history of finals". As for baiting posts, good luck with that.

This week's fun fact, this year Franklin moved into 9th place on the all-time Swans goalscorers list with 337.

Next season he will have his eye on Ted Johnson (385) and Tony Morwood (397), and in 2020 it is look out Bob Skilton

Im not sure why but for some reason, buddy having kicked 337 goals has surprised me. How many players have kicked 500 goals for two different clubs

No player has ever kicked 500 goals for two different clubs.

Tony Lockett is the closest, 898 for his main club and 462 for the Swans
