Future 2nd round maybe or if freo get 22 for Neale but won’t be first rounder. Only person freo should trade their 1st rounder for is hogan

why would freo want a guy in his late 20s who can't get a role in one of the comp's middle of the road midfields.

just absurd

Freo are rebuilding, no way will they trade down from the first round. I call bs.

Also, realistically why would Duncan come to Freo?
Duncan's wife gave birth about a year back, maybe he wants to be back home closer to family. He'd also get more bonafide midfield time at Freo than what he's getting at Geelong ATM.

Just hope it doesn't end up being a straight swap for Darcy....

All of his mates have moved on over the last few years as well ... Caddy, Smedts, Vardy, Mots..

Stop this Darcy bs.

Darcy will be in his three year and our club has decided that he isn't ready to number one ruck for this year.

We have kept Sandilands on list for one more year to give Darcy another year without the responsibility of being the number one ruck on the list.

Darcy is the best under 22 ruck in the AFL, we have no plans to trade him.

Duncan for Darcy is madness and won't happen.

If thats the case we can do a late 1st rd for Fyfe. bet you would be crying he's worth 2 1st rd's
Duncan is 27 and we are in the middle of rebuild.

We currently have pick 5 (6) and Duncan isn't in the ball park for that pick.

I pretty we won't be making finals next year and therefore, our pick will be a top 10. That's too much for Duncan.

Pick 5 for Duncan and pick 11, is a dumb idea as it smacks of the Hodge trade from far back.

I really don't see how it can be done.

So you really think Neale is worth 4 and 22?

No.

Just a idea.

Maybe, the Cats are doing a salary cap dumb and use Duncan's money for Lycett.

Then, overall Geelong loses Duncan and gain's a ruck and a second round pick (either Lions 2018 second pick or Freo's 2019 second pick).

I think that would improve your team.
To be fair he would be on around 600k, and this thread was started to see a reaction I doubt that Duncan is moving, also doubt Kelly will be moving this year.

This time of year the media make up a lot of stuff and especially is Freo is involved.

I only believe something the player or club comes out and say that the player has requested a trade on AFL.COM.AU

I reckon you seriously think that's a realistic offer too.

Says the person who thinks Duncan for pick 5 is a remote chance.

So far this year I'd say Geelong supporters win the award for most overvaluing their players.

There's not enough draft picks in the world to get deals for Kelly and Duncan done.

I think if you are working out the price of Duncan then the precedent has been set by Bryce Gibbs who is worth a bit more but at 28, and a quality midfielder is the closest trade to Duncan in the last few years. Given Gibbs went for about 1750 points, I expect Duncan (27 y.o) to get somewhere in the same ball park.

That's the equivalent to pick 6-10 (noting a single pick is worth more). So something like pick 16 and 28 would be about right though Fremantle doesn't have anything in that range.

Duncan is not going anywhere. He is mooted for trade every year for various reasons. Reminds me of Joel Corey getting linked back to WA every year and that never happened. Duncan is an integral part of Geelong and is very settled in Victoria. Kelly on the other hand..

Usually when using precedents you use a player of equal standing.

Gibbs was Carlton’s captain and best player.

Duncan? Well I forgot he even played for Geelong.

If you expect pick 5 for Lachie Neale then pick 6 for Duncan is about right.

Sure dude.

Check Lachies stat's for total possessions, contested possessions and clearances for starters. He's been all australian and prior to Tom Mitchell's season he had the highest total possession season in AFL/VFL history. He's younger and we won't even start with the leadership potential stuff.

No way they have similar value.
