Should be about Denis Pagan’s legacy. Clarkson, Longmire, Simpson and Hardwicke were all coached by Denis, and Mark Thompson was an Assistant coach at NMFC during Pagan’s tenure.
That’s 9 of the last 12 Premierships all have direct links to the legend.

Pagan coached by Barassi (albeit for a short while) who was coached by Norm Smith.

It all makes sense.

he has shaped the game more than any one man probably ever has.
Malthouse and the press. Teams used to defend differently, iirc high pressure manic tackling and pressing used to not be a thing. Assistant coaches haven't gone on to do anything but in terms of changing the game. Yeah. I can't deny that Clarko is right up there though.

The last three premiership coaches have all come from the Hawthorn coaching system. Like him or loathe him, he has shaped the game more than any one man probably ever has.

How is Bolton going at Carlton? :p

Another self absorbed hawthorn rant, talking about how another teams success was really created or impacted by them. You fellas aren’t dealing with your new found irrelevance all that well....
Don't forget Longmire had a big hand in Mitchells Brownlow too

Don't forget that the turning point came about because of a former Hawthorn player as well.
Without Woodward guarding space in front of Stephenson Eagles lose by a point
