Could be worse , could of asked for steak tar tarMy old man has asked me to come over tomorrow and make him a carpet bag steak.
Hello 1973!
In saying that I will eat one too. You just don't walk away from steak and oysters.
I was watching great British menu last night and that was part of a dish done for the opening course by one of the chefs. Looked amazing.Could be worse , could of asked for steak tar tar
I was flicking channels once and found this chef type show paying homage to 70’s food. Hilarious menus. Prawn cocktail, carpet bag steak, stroganoff, chocolate mousse, steak Dianne etc. a fair few of those have made a comeback too. So long as I don’t have to revisit 70s coffee.I was watching great British menu last night and that was part of a dish done for the opening course by one of the chefs. Looked amazing.
Now where is my prawn cocktail and that Harvey Wallbanger I ordered!
PG I think you’d find every one of those items, maybe bar the carpet bag steak, would be staple menu items on every pub two hours or more outside of Melbourne. Get out and explore the bush, you’ll love it.I was flicking channels once and found this chef type show paying homage to 70’s food. Hilarious menus. Odd how things appear in the zeitgeist sometimes, I showed this to some mates just the other week. There's an English translation on the net too which is pretty funny.I'll just leave this here.
I had to google fondue
Where did it go? That looks amazing!!!
I’m sure people still do fondue at home , but like a lot of old dishes , the man hours and equipment needed don’t justify the cost etc .I had to google fondue

Edit: **** there's banjos in it, never realised that before.
I picture your house as some kind of cool retro paradise with a turntable prominent, a wall of albums, some classy sound setup, vintage concert posters, casual piles of alternative music and movie magazines and a string of hairy alternative types dropping in and out to chill. Maybe a spare bedroom given over to library space - improvised bookshelves from bottles and planks with well-thumbed paperbacks with obscure socialist tests, Russian novels in the original language and learned deconstruction of the arts.Heheheh picked up this cute 7" at the op shop today
