Rumour on SEN that he was visiting the Swans today....
Similarities to the bloos courting Shiel with a private jet up to Qld, less the private jet less $500k pa less Langers paying his own way .. think it’s good fit if that’s what he wants to do good luck to him

Trade to Sydney is set to happen

Seriously, why do Sydney have an academy? Year after year they pluck reputable interstate players and nobody ever leaves citing homesickness and yet this is the third time in five years that they have been handed a top ten talent in the country on a platter. And yet their supporters still get lippy at Eddie when he cites this ridiculous list management advantage.

All the best to Langers who nearly won us a premiership on his own this September.

have him at the lions no worry ! pies must have pissed him right off ! good work eddie

I hope we do get Langdon but this isn't an academy issue as any team can/could trade for Langdon and nothing is forcing Collingwood to agree to the trade.

Swans have 2, or 3 if you include Clarke, players they've traded in from other clubs and Clarke is the first since 2015. Must suck to be a Victorian club and have your pick of homesick players season after season and next-gen academy players like Quaynor. :(

Yeah Buddy and Tippett aren’t reputable. You can have your NGA guys if you want, elite local athletes however

Well it is pretty clear that Collingwood is trying to do something with Sydney. First it was Moore, he re-signed and now Langdon.

Logic would say that this is part of the plan to land May. Dew is ex Sydney, knows the players and probably has his eye on one or two to help his young list. So we package Landgon to Sydney, player X to Suns with our first rounder (this year or next as we have issues Qaynoor and Will Kelly) and May to Pies.

I would be happy with that. Landon is a good player but May is more important as its easier to replace a flanker than a KPP.

We have traded in the least number of players in over the last few years, in fact we didn't trade any last year at all. You bring up Franklin & Tippett in your next post but these were 5 and 6 years ago. Compare that to the Collingwood who have been plundering the northern states for years and are trying to dislodge the Gold Coast captain as we speak

We have lost Mitchell and Mitchell claiming homesickness, as well as losing Hanners and Rohan this year.

So sour.....

Oh yes, being in the state with the majority of the countries talent must be such a hardship for Collingwood. Cheers he look like a absolute gem.

Damien "Flog" Barrett reporting Langdon is talking with Freo today (after talking with Sydney yesterday)

11 years worth of trades with 4 northern clubs which of these represent "plundering". Generally speaking controlling have given fair value. IF not which exact trade was plundering?

2007 Camron Wood (brisbane) pick 14
2008 Andrew Corrie (brisbane) pick 93
2010 Darren Jolly (Syd() picks 14, 46
2011 Peter Yagmor (GCS and pick 50 for pick 27
2013 To9ny Armstrong (syd) delisted FA
2013 Jessie Whiote (syd) for pick 44
2013 Taylor Adams (GWS) for Heath Shaw
2013 Patrick Karanitzis for Jackson Paine
2014 Picks 5 ,25 Jack Crisp for Dayne Beams,
2015 Adam Treloar for picks 7,65 and 2016 first round
2015 James Aish for pick 26 and 2016 second round (stkilda)
2016 Will Hoskin Elliot for 2017 second round
2017 Sam Murray ,pick 79m, 2018 third round for 1016 second round

Sydney have 3 second round picks this year and need a lot of points for Blakey.
Not sure what they can offer for Langdon, but I doubt we would take scraps.

We thought the same when Ed came up for renewal. Wasn't an issue in the end. It puts us in a slightly better position but with the Pies looking good I would assume he stays.
I like the current pies managers strategies- who does eddie hate the most- just link him to their club and he will come up with the $$.
