If he wins he will be less than 300 points behind Nadal for points gained this year. Will be an interesting last few weeks to see who ends the year as #1. Though with 2 slams, djokovic is the player of the year.

Djokovic will end the year as no 1, he's fit and in top form.

I don't see how Nadal can hold on.

Paris - Nadal (QF); Djokovic (n/a)
London - Nadal (n/a); Djokovic (n/a)
Melbourne - Nadal (QF); Djokovic (R16)

STAT: weeks at #1 - Djokovic 223; Nadal 193

Coric has shown this year that he's finally living up to the potential he had shown as a junior and a young pro. He did a Novak and sacked his entire team and recruited Raonic's old team as well as one-time manager, Ljubicic.

As for Novak, old Nole is defo back. Would love to see him win more AO titles. He's really made it his own.

I'd say Djokovic is fast approaching that invincible 2015/16 form again. Wouldn't be surprised if he keeps his unbeaten streak going through the Paris Masters & ATP Finals

Rapt for Djokovic, taking out 4 big titles in a short space of time is an emphatic turnaround. 'Snatching' the year-end from Nadal would also make up for the collapse to Murray in 2016. Almost certain to get there eventually anyway, you'd think Nadal would have to win or go close at London. Great to have Novak back and imperious.

Ever since that stirring Indian Wells run, Coric has had a superb season, glad he got a Masters final. Historically was a hater, both as a potential foil to our young Aussies, and then as another inept waster, but has won we over this year, very much coming of age.

Starting to drool over the incoming lost points for Jack Sock! We're almost there! Dimitrov and Goffin also stand to lose a bit, and Krajinovic is in for a fall.

Honestly, given his career, 2.5 years without a significant injury layoff (including the Olympics run, the Davis Cup, the no.3 ranking peak, the slam final) is about his limit, a good run in his context. I think Delpo would take that outcome in a heartbeat back in 2015.

4 Aussies in the top 40, yas! You'd think Millman and Ebden couldn't go that much higher, maybe mid 20s if extremely lucky. Neither have been able to sustain the good times for very long (whether injury or loss of form), but at least Millman has those slam QF points locked away until next August.
