Jake Niall and Michael Gleeson reporting in The Age that an eight-team mega deal will go down tomorrow (also described as a few large and related deals).

The trade has been largely put together by the AFL’s biggest player management group TLA, which handles Neale, Hogan, Wingard, Lobb and Hombsch.

As far as I can make out it looks a little something like this:

Melbourne in: Steven May, Kade Kolodjashnij, #23
Melbourne out: Jesse Hogan

Brisbane in: Lachie Neale
Brisbane out: Dayne Beams, #5

Fremantle in: Rory Lobb, Jesse Hogan
Fremantle out: Lachie Neale, #23*

Collingwood in: Dayne Beams
Collingwood out: #18

Port Adelaide in: #5, #15, Ryan Burton
Port Adelaide out: Chad Wingard, #6

Gold Coast in: #6
Gold Coast out: Steven May, Kade Kolodjashnij

Hawthorn in: Chad Wingard
Hawthorn out: Ryan Burton, #15

GWS in: #18
GWS out: Rory Lobb

Obviously a few more bits to be added to it to balance it up, but that's the bits they've actually put in the article.

Sticking points:
  • Melbourne want more than that for Hogan
  • Brisbane want more than that for Beams, and would prefer Beams deal is not part of the mega deal
  • Collingwood need pick 18 to match bids in the draft

*edited to add, missed initially. Thanks to Giant Strides for catching it.

May, pick 23 and Kade Kolo would be a reasonable haul for Hogan really.

If they didn't have other key forwards you could understand not going there but McDonald and Weideman is a decent set up plus Gawn spending more time up there then you have the other McDonald, May and Lever as your third up defender and you are locked and loaded for talls at both ends and have a gun contested midfield in the centre.

I don't think we have all the details, there'd be more going back to a few of them surely.
Another thing, why are clubs allowing a player management company design trades for them?

If that happened it would be the greatest stage managed trade in the history of mankind.

It would also obviously happen during the time on Foxtel they are showing trades live.

And obviously have nothing to do with any other 'affairs' between AFL and Foxtel employees.

As per quote in OP, one of the player management groups has half those players, apparently they're behind it.
So after tomorrow trade period
GC 2,3,6,19,24,29
St Kilda 4,28
Adelaide 8,13,16,21
Port 5,10 + ?
If GC only want Lukosius and Rozee
GC swap pick 3 ,19 ,24 with Adelaide for 8,13,16
Then swap pick 6,29 for St Kilda pick 4
St Kilda end up pick 6 , 28,29 .
Adelaide pick 3,19, 21,24
GC pick 2,4,8,13,16.
