**** he went off the rails quick, I thought he was crying in the Herald Sun a week or two ago and talking about turning it around?

It's almost as if these tearful confessionals have no substance.
Its almost like PR specialists exist, hey?

Proof will be in the pudding for Brian. Good luck to him, and its worth remembering that you have to want to change before you can change.

Yep. Question I have with these sort of things is whether they want or (more to the point) need to change.

I could be very wrong but someone like Lake just strikes me as a pretty normal dropkick.

He goes out and has a good time, sometimes takes it too far, gets in trouble, but nothing serious.

Then someone takes a photo of the obvious and it’s all “oh I’ve gotta go to rehab” etc. I mean give me a break. Do we really need these tearful episodes?

I reckon there’s a fair chance Lake doesn’t even think he’s done the slightest thing wrong and won’t change anything. It’s all PR, which is notoriously shitscared of the conservative population in a “lowest common denominator” sense.

I’m sure they’re told to do this garbage in case they’ve damaged a publicly visible career. I mean *in Mumford ffs. Apparently there was talk of rehab. It’s some random video from years ago. He’s led a pretty normal life since.

It’s all just such bullshit.

so it looks like someone has gone in for a line with lakey, then taken a photo and dobbed him in.

You might be right but he’s been involved in domestic violence issue while drunk, locked up overseas drunk and just got caught doing a line in the dunnies. He probably has lost any chance of regaining the significant Media Work he’d already lost, probably won’t get an assistant job anywhere and his Wife has booted him out. I think we that’s a reasonable reason to go get help to be honest.

Spot on.

Although, I wished I had have taken photos of the Hawthorn premiership side that I saw walking into the cubicles in twos in the corporate at the GP a few years back. I hate those pricks.

Dale Lewis.... nothing to see here move along

Ah yes, back in 2002.

AFL outrage over drug claims

AFL Football Operations Manager Andrew Demetriou said today the drugs allegations from retired Sydney player Dale Lewis were an insult to the overwhelming majority of players.

Demetriou said the claim in this morning's press that up to 75 percent of players had taken some sort of recreational drug did not match reality.

He added the league had one of the strongest anti-drug programs of any sporting league in the world, but only two players had been suspended after returning positive tests.

"The suggestions of drugs being rife in the AFL are inaccurate and exaggerated," he said. Demetriou added any player breaching the doping rules could expect to be caught sooner rather than later.

The league said at a media conference this afternoon it would write to Lewis seeking clarification of the claims made in the media this morning.
