Yep 100% correct, I support our womens team just like I support our mens team, while a lot who do follow the AFLW are PC there are people like me who left one of the AFLW related facebook groups because it was too politically correct and because an admin told me not to call the Collingwood womens team "the scumettes". I know some people that happily watch women's sports but are definitely not PC either.

You need to stop comparing a bloke who won a Grand Final for Hawthorn in 2008, to a group who would struggle to beat stiff breeze. This is the joke of it all, and it started last year when Channel 7 started comparing Daisy Pearce's stats up against Leigh Matthews and Alex Jesaulenko. What an insult. Dunno what the media listen too but down at the local pub Ive never heard anyone mention AFLW other than to bring up the incessant over hype of it. Even my wife & sister cannot watch it, so that speaks volumes for me.

I don't enjoy watching any netball, and no-one in their right mind enjoys watching synchronized swimming.

Basketball on the other hand, they're great to watch. If you've seen the Opals play, they're nearly as good as the men with some of their plays. Soccer isn't bad either.

It's not about 'torturing yourself' to watch it. No-one 'has' to watch it, but they shouldn't bitch when it's on. That's the difference. I don't bitch when the same sh*t appears on the news every night, I just turn it off. Young girls like watching it, so let them enjoy it. I still don't think it's the greatest to watch yet, but I have absolutely no qualms with them televising it if it inspires a younger generation of women to play footy.

Oh I'm sorry that women's football doesn't appeal to your pornographic need to see women as just objects. News flash: The women's AFL league isn't for you to 'perv' on women, it's a chance for women to play at the highest level.

It's on when the AFL isn't on. It's on during the off-season. There are other channels in the sports package that people might not like either...you know what people do? They change the f*cking channel.

There quality of football on top of that at this stage is not appealing to me . I have doubts it ever will in fact I am almost certain it won't . Women's cricket is the same , not entertaining not appealing . Women are weaker, these power sports don't suit them .
Aflw is receiving more publicity than it deserves , it is being pushed , marketed . The sooner it fails completely ,the better

AFLW will always be garbage. It’s just a sport that doesn’t translate well for women as a spectacle. Basketball is another sport that doesn’t translate well for women. Women’s soccer and tennis is entertaining. Golf too. When the Olympics are on most sports the women do like swimming and athletics are decent spectacles. It’s hard to put a finger on why.

I think the gulf in quality between men and women for footy is so large that is the problem.

Anyway I agree with OP that I’ll never sit down and watch AFLW no matter how much the AFL try to ram it down our necks. Would rather watch replays of grand finals or other classic matches.

But they literally can’t and never will. Quite frankly the product they’re putting out now is an embarrassment and the girls have not earned the right to be put on tv.

I guarantee not one of the AFLW players has put in as much work as the kids in the TAC cup, yet who gets on tv and who gets all the promotion.

Stripped of the PC narrative and associated agendas, that says it all, re women's and men's sport [except possibly sailing and equestrianism (both my sports in younger days)]. And field hockey - I am happy paying to see women's field hockey.
