This all started, when a poster, posed the question of, would you trade pick 1, for 3, 24, 29, I said yes. Then you ask a question, about what the value would be, if we tried to trade it up to a 1st rounder, without me giving an opinion on what I would do.

This is not as simple as, how many $20 notes makes up the value of a $100 note. The value is what another club is willing to part with, for picks 24 and 29, surely you would know that. Or insert whatever you think it is worth, as it is like auctioning a house

At the same time, you state that the value is not worth the deal, as those 2nd round picks will be pushed back. I will let you in on a secret, pick 24 and 29 is worth the 24th and 29th best player that is available to 17 other clubs.

So, if all that matters to you, is determining the value of picks 24 and 29, if trying to upgrade to a 1st rounder, it comes down to what club is interested in doing the deal

One thing I will agree with you on is that what you get for a draft pick depends on what other teams are willing to pay and that it is like an auction - with that in mind and with the Suns, Port, Adelaide and GWS all holding multiple first round picks and with at least 3 of those sides keen to get pick 1 if SOS traded pick 1 for 3, 24 & 29 he would have his position reviewed.

1 for 3, 24 & 29 is definitely worth consideration and a discussion with other key stakeholders within the club.

Remember, if Luko was Victorian and Walsh SA 100% the hype would be reversed.

Gee live trading is going to be slow if every offer has to be taken to board level for approval.

It is cute how you think that "consulting other senior stakeholders" insulates someone from carrying the can for bad decisions in a football club.

The "key stakeholders" have all said trading pick one is "unlikely" and will "take something big" - 3, 24 & 29 isn't something big. It looks even worse when you consider the suns have 2, 3 & 6, Port have 5, 10 & 15, Adelaide have 8, 13 & 16 and GWS have 9, 11 & 19 and could all be involved in a trade far superior to 3, 24 & 29 - especially when the two Adelaide clubs are very keen on Lukosisus and Rankine.

It was also worth remembering that Port gave up 11, 23, 30 & 49 to get 6 and Freo's 2019 3rd round selection, in that context 2, 24 & 29 for 1 look a long way from "something big"

Why would we delist kerridge and recruit Bugg? I would of thought they are the same type of player. Big bodied mids who can play defensive forward

I think they're different. Kerridge was a hard gut running mid who was more an accumulator and link player with poor decision making.

I reckon Bugg's best position is as a small defender who can tag. Can play defensive forward as well. The question I have is if we pick Blakey do we need Bugg?
