I think they are looking at it in that he has to go into the draft first and if they don't get picked up they can then be taken as a supplemental pick. Who knows with the AFL, they change things all the time.

It actually states they have to be out of the game for 12mths or more, and they havent.

This is the new rule that GWS will use to get Mumford. If you've been overlooked in a draft or previously on a list but out of the game for a year you're basically a free agent as of Friday last week. Means you can be signed like a delisted free agent without having to go through any further draft:

The point being in this case with Mav Weller, he's been delisted so can be signed as a supplementary CatB.

Yes but dont want him on the senior list, Weller was on good coin at the saints and wanted to go to gold coast (i posted this on the suns board when i got the info)

Just think we are better getting a bigger bodied kid with upside and on lower coin

I’d just trade next years first for a couple in the 20s. And then worry about getting in to the first round next year when the time comes.

If his brother cost the suns a top 3 pick then.
Straight swap for Jack Lukosius next year or Pick 1 should get the deal done.

People read to much into them.
We need an inside mid so therefore we are drafting 4 inside mids with our picks....

I am with Flea, because Mav has not had 12 months out of the game, even between 2013 and 2014, I cannot see how he does not get to RFC without going via the rookie draft at least. But it looks like that might be the avenue anyway given other clubs seem to have shown little interest and this is the third time around... Reading these articles it looks like going forward there could be an impetus pushing for these scenarios like Mav who have been on lists and been passed in drafts to simply be taken as rookies via supplementary section is the way I read it. Mind you my interpretation is only limited to articles presented in the previous big footy posts.

Is Stocker too slow and/or too similar to Graham? I would prefer a player with a bit of pace and inside/outside capabilities. Duursma and O'Halloran seem like good picks.

Have we been linked with any players leading up to the draft? In previous years (barring last) it seemed the player(s) we were drafting was pretty much public knowledge.

Im really liking Bytel more and more, injury aside. Huge upside and potential, big size, could be a real surprise packet.

Stocker can play Round 1.

I see Mitch Grigg gets overlooked in the draft..... i'd maybe consider him over Hamm.....

Still need to go hard for Gold Coasts 2 2nd rdrs. Load up this draft. MRJ in next years draft.
