To win just 2 games a season, is something special and an award for still coaching a side like Carlton. Why not a coach?

Brave man to face the daily ridicule and humiliation.

Give the names you believe are worthy instead of whining

Had the Demons retained the services of Jimmy Toumpas & Jack Watts for just one more season then it'd last likely be a race in two but ..

All-time record for goals kicked on the hallowed turf ... Matthew Richardson. It's time to bronze The Cho ..

I see you don't have a reply button with your membership with BF. Maybe call geeks 2 u to see if they can fix it.

Whining? I did state that I thought it was amusing - hardly whining, rather entertained in a humorous sense.

If you're serious with this thread why would you have Eddie McGuire in the poll? Hell why not put Rick Hart in there? Or maybe Butters? Jeff Kennett perhaps?

Whilst I agree you've put in some worthy contenders I can't take it seriously if you put someone like Eddie McGuire in as a worthy recipient.

Can think of a list off the top of my head:

Peter McKenna
Lou Richards
Lance Franklin
Maurice and Cyril
Kev Sheedy
Jock McHale
Royce Hart
Peter Hudson
Judd
John Todd
Allan Jeans
Tom Hafey
Gordon Coventry
Ross Glendinning
Shaun Burgoyne
Polly
Phonse Kyne
Barry Cable

Pretty sure none of the above have a statue at the G

Ok - Left Field nomination.

Max Walker. One of the last players to combine football and cricket seriously at the absolute top level. Useful footballer - gun cricketer. Played plenty of VFL and Australian Test Matches at the MCG (incl the Centenary Test, where he did well).

Plus, one of the first 'Fan Favourite' legends with his crowd interactions.

Statue outside Bay 13, thanks. To be unveiled 'Onagoodweegend'.:D

On a serious note, the MCC has a criteria that statues recognize individuals withe extraordinary feats at the MCG.

So that pretty much rules out most of your list.

MCG was North's home ground for pretty much all of Carey's career. He played blinding footy there.

The Friday Night Footy element of the Gs history was pretty much started by Carey and co.
