Ned Looks pretty quick. Or at least he plays at high intensity which is great.
Think I recall he was around the 3.10 mark so not quick but very, very evasive and agile with a nice sidestep....Jack Higgins isn't super quick either. I'd describe Ned as the energiser bunny on steroids. You'll love this kid's determination.

Yeah Ned is extremely evasive, in a way that kind of makes up for his lack of pace, especially in the contest

He doesn't look that slow ... Looks about the same speed as the gnome.... Looks like he has good decision making skills and a mean fend off ... I would feel sorry for defenders with this guy and fogarty in the same fwd line ..

Yes, probably not super, super quick. But he looks like he keeps a good pace when not on a straight line (like you say his evasiveness). But he also plays at a high intensity in a lot of that vision. Given he sounds like he has an absolutely huge tank, I am imagining a guy whose average pace over the course of 4 quarters will be really high. With his repeat sprint efforts, he will get closer to that 3.10 mark more often in a game than the guys that can do 2.9.

The fend off actually worries me if he has it as a tool, as it's something I doubt will work at an AFL level with McHenrys size. He may find a way to make it work, and I'd love it if he could, but it certainly is more of a question mark at this point.

In the afl you can just fend them off in the face... Its what dusty does ...

For a guy who’se knock looks to be his speed, his highlights package seems to be packed with vision of him running past blokes.

Seems to have no fear at running at top pace which is a trait I love in a prospect.

Think we might have got a good one

I will say one more thing about this pick - and something positive as well. I reckon this just about confirms Gallucci will be a full time midfielder next year.

Yea I notice that as well he seems to be very quick in the first couple of steps, Wonder with some specialist speed training he may improve a yard or two.

Hahaha good to see the young lad thinking about his future coffee table :)

Imagine when Smithers gets a hold of him? Laird might get a break.

Exactly. Charlie Cameron was a bit like a cheetah. Would run at unbelievable pace, but could only manage a handful of those runs a game. This kid looks like he can run at pace all day long. Nobody gets excited by a 178cm player, but there are plenty of them around that height that are great players. But I like him athletically and his skills seem pretty good. I am backing Hamish completely on this one, as with Jones.

Late in games he's just getting warmed up when all the speedsters are totally ****ed.

For those of us who have seen Lachie Neale play as a junior, Ned has a lot of similar traits. Comfortable with ball in hand, makes good decisions and a good step to make space. Very neat kick too. Same height as well. Haggis has made the call, I’m backing him in.
