Can't see Freo or WCE picking up Marsh....if EF could get Harry back, might even persuade Jono to stay....both would be a good for EF defence, though Jono looks to be heading over east anyway from the sounds of things.....Paparone, Strnadica and Marsh would be very good gets for EF....

2019 Match Ball Legend
It is with great pleasure that the Sharks announce Stephen Bilcich as the Legend on the Match Ball for 2019.

The WAFL Match Ball initiative began in 2000, giving each club the opportunity to produce a special ball for their home games. Every year a player that is considered to have made a significant contribution to the club is placed on the ball.

Stephen Bilcich has been recognised for his service to East Fremantle as a Captain, Premiership Player, Lynn Medallist and 200-gamer.

Bilcich came to East Fremantle through country football, playing for Ramblers in Carnarvon before moving to St Pats in Geraldton. He made his East Fremantle League debut on 19 June 1989 v Subiaco at Subiaco.

Seriously good player should have played AFL

De-listed East Fremantle product Luke Strnadica is being chased by three WAFL clubs in the event he doesn’t get an AFL lifeline.

The 201cm big man, who was cut by Fremantle after showing promising signs for Peel Thunder last season, is most likely to return to the Sharks, with the Royals and reigning premiers Subiaco also in the hunt.

The Sharks will have been dealt a massive blow with star utility Jonathon Marsh moving back to Victoria after two seasons in the west. The Margaret River product and former Collingwood-listed player has attracted VFL interest.

Knee victim Blaine Boekhorst is ticking all the boxes for a round one return for East Fremantle next season.

He is making good progress in his rehabilitation and will have a modified training program before joining his teammates for pre-season.

Be great to have Strnadica up front with Loersch, though be great also to see Strnadica get another go at the elite level too. Marsh is definitely a loss, but hey EF got him back to the club unexpectedly when he left Collingwood out of the blue back in 2017....wish him all the best in finding another elite level gig.

Manning from WP definitely if fit, would be a quality experienced in for EF. Great to hear Boekhorst is also another potential in after his 60 second season this year doing his ACL.

Looking at EF current list status, all AFL delisted boys are on it, though can't see EF getting them all tho....be nice....LOL. Seeing youngsters in Baskervllle and Bennett back on EF list great also, both talented mids from memory.

Think Monaghan officially starts on Monday, so can see a lot more info coming out soon....as far as I am concerned Monaghan is EF biggest and best recruit so far....recognized and prolonged success as a coach, will definitely help provide some off field direction for the club.

Heard ins so far for EF are Manning(WP), Baskerville & Stokes(Rockingham Rams), Bennett(Centrals), Adamini(Kelleberrin)..the latter 4 ex EF players returning after a year or 2 away. Boekhorst returns from an ACL injury and rehab going well for round 1.

In the mix are ex Freo boys in Strnadica, & Grey, ex NM player in Mountford(ex Cl) and ex SS Harry Marsh(ex EF)

Outs: Jonno Marsh to VFL , Liam Anthony and a bunch of 2nd tier boys.

Cunning plan by WCE to find experienced players for their reserves side....can't see Marsh getting a look in at WCE...esp in their defence....Would be handy in EF defence tho....ditto for Paparone too....tho heard he may be taking 12 months off due to ongoing hamstring issues.....

Morgan Davies has become the third East Fremantle signing in a little over a week as last season’s wooden-spooners plot a rise up the WAFL ladder.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins from Claremont in search of greater senior opportunities after struggling to cement his spot in the Tigers’ side.

Originally from Albany, Davies came through Claremont’s colts system before making his senior debut in round 19, 2016.

He played 10 of his 23 league games this year, averaging 18 disposals and five tackles, but was in and out of the side and finished the season in the reserves.

Davies is a bit of a goer.

21-year-old, classy left footer said he was excited to be given the opportunity to play a more prominent role at Senior level for East Fremantle in 2019.

“I am looking forward to getting down to Shark Park and meeting all the coaches, support staff and players,” Davies said.

“I can’t wait to crack into pre-season and try and earn their respect."

Football Operations Manager Brad Dodd said Davies could play in a variety of roles at the Sharks.

“We see Morgan as playing inside and outside midfield but also being able to give us some drive across half back,” said Dodd.

“Morgan also did some solid run-with jobs in 2018 so he offers us some real flexibility.”

Paparone also missed out too....either or both of Paparone and Marsh back at the club would be a plus.....not sure if EF will get either tho......Subi will be pressing hard as will SF I reckon
