Damn I wanted Blakey to get 37. Still, 4 works I suppose.

Edit. Did not read properly and thought those were the official numbers.

Still want Blakey to get 37 as he seems like a worthy replacement for Goodes.
A couple of gone early . It's only a number as Stevie Wright told me once and you can't see it. Like muppets that get tatts on their backs , having said that 37 is now very important like 11 and 14.

* swansfan51 & scaryness holding me back as I flail my banzhammer around in a wild rage *

Admit it GotTheBlakey, you would love to see Blakey in the 37 :)

The mouthful of Maltesers I had chewing on mounted an escape when I read this.

Wonder who will get 16.

Would still like JPK to nobly change numbers. This would allow Nick to wear a great player's number and honour his dad.

The sobs of the #lolCameNinfers would be stupendous and their tears could fill another Dead Sea.

With you on that Bedford. Never understood this fixation with players' numbers. Can't even remember many of them off the top of my head. Specially once they've retired.

But 37 will always be special to me.
Still I was shocked at Tony Franklin getting 14. I believe the numbers 10, 11, 14, 23 and 37 should be special at our club.

They are fos , i'm just saying these numbers are special and maybe shouldn't be given to spuds like Foote or Towers.

37 is special, and I don't think there will be a better fit for the number in the next 5 years than Blakey. He both is very talented and also shares some similarities with Goodes as well. We will have to use the 37 eventually, and Blakey seems like a good choice.

No number should have been given to Towers, Foote or Grohan.

Agree. I don't have a scintilla of romance . Despite this, I want the number used for the next Aboriginal champ.19 is good Number too.

I am not sure about making the number into one of race as I don't think Goodes would want that either. I just want it to go to the kid with the most promise, and if he has aspects of his game similar to Goodes then that is even better.
