The concept of a 7.5mill race for 4yo only competing directly with the best race day in Aus is the stupidest thing they could possibly come up with. Direct finger at all 4yo who would have run in the Kennedy Mile as well, to split the quality.

If you had a good quality 4yo sprinter, good enough to win the Everest, they could probably steal this a couple of weeks later against an inferior field and pick up 10mill+ in 2 weeks without winning a group race. Crazy

Which race do the European 3yos run in?

You'd have to think many Euro 3yos (4yo by Southern Hemisphere standards) that come for the Melbourne Cup will use this as a lead up. Will have the class but probably beaten for pace over a mile. Still collect a decent cheque for running in the money.

Nothing is going to boost turnover like an 8 horse field with 5 of them trained by Waller.

Interesting ride on Laure me in in the first leg of the quad. Sit sprint horse could have easily had the one one yet the Jockey just burnt his horse trying to keep some nag out 3 wide, needless to say he gave up at the end.

Suddenly we have a 7.5 mill race over an amazingly suitable distance of 1500m restricted specifically to 4yos to encourage horses not to retire early
