This will end up being one of the worst deals in the history of sport.
You sound like one of those climate change soothsayers that shot their load a tad early in the quest for some attention.

It has already proven to be one of the best deals in the history of AFL.
Even if the remainder of his contract was put up for sale right now we'd have a stampede of epic proportions.

There is no drawcard like Bud. There is noone that has the ability to put bums on seats or memberships in the kitty like Bud.

Already his annual contractual payments look like something for an A- midfielder that grow on trees.

He scared the s**t out of teams at two clubs, and in his twighlight years he only need park himself near the square and suck in the best defenders. We might even make him peel the half time oranges and he'd still be a presence.

He cannot possibly have any regrets. He had already won a flag or two, Colemans, AA's, basically everything a KPF can do. These days he's shacked up happy as larry with Miss Universe Australia in a 10mill shanty in paradise city. Earns good coin, gets the best gear, has an easy training schedule designed for longevity, and can look forward to a life most only dream about.

Thats the difference between Sydney and s**t mobs like Essendon. We take calculated risks with player contracts and live with our decisions good or bad, rather than deliberately risking the players health by pumping experimental toxins into their bloodstream just to see what the phuk might happen.

It has already proven to be one of the best deals in the history of AFL.

Given Sydney 0 premierships, destroyed their list management plans, permanently removed 2 million dollars of cheating money from Sydney's salary cap, while costing himself at least two premierships. Yep, fantastic deal. Has set Sydney back a decade.

Took Swans to top of the table in 14 and 16..Most country's in the world would recognize this but in Australia the lower ranked teams can get gifted a grand final at there own venue when they haven't earnt the right to host . What Are Victorian teams record at at finals outside Victoria-18%..His record and his legacy will only look better and better in time.If anyone in the AFL should have no regrets and be happy it's Buddy.

But theyve sold extra memberships. Worth it

Sydney havent won a flag since Tom departed.

Hawks have won 2 since Buddy departed.

Thread is about regrets.

It is actually about Hawthorn fans wishing Buddy had regrets, hoping he had regrets. It is about Hawthorn fans who are still bitter he is no longer with their club, that he decided he wanted to leave their club.

Sydney have had it good.... from Capper to Lockett to Hall to Buddy... and possibly now to Blakey, but if not they will find another wantaway superstar. They have always had an entertaining spearhead playing at the harbor city. I would say that it could even make a key forward more suggestible to making the move there in the future.

Swans management learned in the mid 90's how much Sydney AFL fans love a dominant key forward.
