He has played 80 first class matches for 7 centuries at an average of 36.

36 shouldn't even be good enough to open for Victoria let alone Australia.

He literally needs 22 innings on average to score a century.

Because we are ******* s**t.
There's only 4 guys averaging over 50 in first class cricket this year. The batting depth in Australia probably ranks around the West Indies and New Zealand now.

Those are the averages of the supposed best 6 batsmen and WK we currently have. Only 2 of our batsmen average 40.....

Damien Martyn was dropped from test cricket a couple times and he averaged mid 40s in test cricket.

I'm just astonished how bad we are.

He likes to occupy the crease. Has had some long innings in FC cricket. I honestly think with our batting as bad as it is I'd play another opener at 3 and atleast try and protect the middle order.
So when Renshaw matures have him open and have Harris at 3.
