Except for in the game that matters. :(

I don’t think we helped him by getting his matchup wrong, but we might as well have played with 21 given what he offers if he isn’t shutting someone out. It’s the biggest issue with those types especially with his league worst ball use.

IMHO the biggest source of improvement from last season will be Sier - provided his tank improves. Last year he tended, almost without exception, to have good quarters, or even halves, but he didn't have a BIG GAME. So can I ask, respectfully, that you focus on him during the drills etc to see how quickly he gets tired, and how quickly he recovers.

Cheers

Agree.
Brain said one thing and I typed another!
I meant to write Tardrew
I see that name can’t help but think of Dr Who and the Tardis.

I asked Albert Parker this question on Monday at training, and I'm interested in other opinions.
If you had to pick one of our defenders, who is our best 'one on one' defender?

Apples Watched a few dogs games from 2014
Great get roughead , played fullback(next to Boyd, who pushed his case) then and was forced to play ruck due to minsons retirement
Vice captain after all at dogs

Think he will be a huge plus at fullback
He and Moore certainly improves our match ups with the eagles talls

I was there from start to finish while dying in the heat. Stood in the little shade I found near the glasshouse doors.

Open Training with Collingwood AFL & AFLW
Working on a brief report now. Will post soon.
BTW Jen, I asked two women if they were Jen2310.....they gave me weird looks.
Jen’s picture is here somewhere on these threads.

When you do finally see her and ask are you Jen,she should reply
“She’ll be apples”

:)

It was hot and windy with much of the crowd huddling around whatever shade could be found this morning. I lasted 15 minutes on the boundary before retreating inside the cool of the Glasshouse. We then stood on the hill in the shade of a light tower for the next hour. At least the wind was pleasant.

Not a lot to report really as it was a light session of skills and drills.

Not Training:
Treloar, Goldsack, Beams, Moore, Greenwood, Dunn, Wells, WH-E, Howe, C&T Brown, *Crisp

Straight from the horse's mouth:

I asked Nathan Murphy to solve the Big Footy Conundrum of 2018 and he was very happy to oblige, much to Tom Phillips's amusement. Here's what Murph told me:
"This time last year I was 188cm and 77kg. At the moment I'm 192 and 87kg. They reckon I'll finish up around 195cm." Phillips jokingly suggested he was 'gilding the lilly'.

I suppose rumours flourish when the club is less than forthcoming about players. I can't find any mention of Jack Crisp on the club's injury list or any mention of reasons for his absence. Some of the regular track watchers insisted that Crisp had been at training sessions and they were also sure he trained last week and ran the time trial. He must be invisible! I stand to be corrected, but Crisp did not train last week, nor did he run the time trial. Jen stated that he was in attendance on Dec 3rd but stood on the sidelines and didn't participate.

The rumour mill suggests he is unhappy and that he has 'walked out'. I overheard this being discussed, but it doesn't make much sense to me. Why would a player walk out at the beginning of Pre-Season? If anybody knows where Crispy is I'd be keen to hear it.

Mark Keane said he was flying home on Friday. He enjoys a chat this boy. I couldn't understand a lot of what he said, but I think it was something like this:
Asked about coping in his first Melbourne summer he said, "I'm not getting a lot of sleep. Last Friday I slept 2 hours. Too hot and training when it's 40 is tough. It will be freezing at home over Christmas."

It's a big ask of 18 yo boys to move across the world into a totally foreign environment with all the usual hurdles, let alone training in weather that they have never experienced before. Last Friday would have been a killer for Keane and Tohill.

Earlier I was sitting on the bench with a short guy. Then we ended up going to the corner where the glasshouse doors are. When they opened them it was heaven with the air con!

Aka me

Ah! The women I asked were 'substantially older' and were stationed beside the race. No offence intended.

Oh no, Jordan training and looking all happy and good.

Time to quash the two turds junk post (aka mike Sheehan’s offcut offspring known as Tony Two Turds).

None taken. I don’t look my 35 years of age lol

In terms of crispy, it’s an odd one. I’ve been to most training sessions since it started and he has not trained. I’ve seen a pic I will try to locate on time trial day. He was standing with greenwood watching the run. Haven’t seen him since.

And Crisp is a guy who has not missed even one game since he joined us.
And he was in fine form and could have been in the outskirts of AA contention.

Might just be his program.

In fairness, Tony made absolutely no reference to Degoey. In fact 'big name player' lacked the hyperbole to be Degoey and the lack of mention of the size of the club ruled out the rest of the Collingwood list.

Two Turds has noted you can eat half their nickname as a club ie (Mag)Pies.

Where is all the media on this?
You’d think a Collingwood player they’d be self pleasuring by now?

That makes me suspect not quite true.
