Speculative home town pick but I'd have a look at Jack Bowes this year
Top 10 draft pick so has some pedigree
Has shown some SC progression the first two years 48 > 64 > ?
played mostly defence but moved into the midfield in the last few games of the year and looked really good.

Final 3 games playing midfield: 23 possessions, kick predominant, 5 marks, 4 tackles (45% contested possessions) - averaging 92 SC points
average for the whole year 64.1 so using the multiplier priced ~$350,000
will be a defender but probably play mostly midfield this year.
Provides a bit of class to mix in with our mostly workmanlike midfield (Brodie, Miller, Swallow)

If he does, could easily see him averaging high 80's to low 90's
If he was ~300k would be a lock for me. The 350k is pushing it a bit but one to consider for sure.

I’d rather back in the judgement of Gold Coast’s full time coaching staff and development team as opposed to speculative lore

The Kings are huge boys and they’re competitive beasts - I’ve seen them and they are absolutely 100% ready for early cracks at senior footy. They seem to be the most misjudged draftees I’ve ever seen. People read ‘200cm tall forward’ and they automatically think McCartin 2.0 for some reason.

Locks :

Laird, Whitfield
Titch, Fyfe
Grundy
Dangerfield, Heeney

Speculative :

Jack Steele
SPP
SPS
Nic Newman
Wayne Milera
Dylan Roberton
Harris Andrews
Hugh McCluggage
Alex Witherden
Tim English
Sean Darcy
Tim Taranto
Joe Daniher
Eric Hipwood
Tom Papley
Pearce Hanley
Brad Crouch
Lachie Weller
Toby Greene
Tom Lynch
Alex Rance
Heath Shaw
Connor Blakely
Matt Crouch
Zach Merrett
Marcus Bontempelli
Rory Sloane
Dayne Beams
Taylor Adams

List of guys that I think are either underpriced based on history, or primed for a breakout. Track Steeles finish to 2018. Papley has Menzel arriving, and Hannebery departing. Is Heath Shaw RELEVANT again with the new kick in rules? Could we see eternal cheap pill off the HBF coupled with 70m punts out of the goal square?

Where is my ******* team picker.:'(

No Gresh. Delete team, start again.

Nice avie by the way. Stolen for game day freds :D

I never like this .....at most top 8 clubs, these draftee's would get a year of development in local leagues to build their body ....whilst i admit Rankine is ready to go, Lukossius and Ben King are no-where near ready physically & will be thrown to the wolves if played ......they couldn't stand-up in a strong breeze

Why do struggling clubs F....k players careers up .........the history of great young draftees being spat out of the system, becuase they're played too early & not developed correctly .....sorry, it's a hobby horse of mine

Luko's been playing league footy since he was 17. We's wiry but he's not playing like Tom Hawkins. He'll be fine.

King however.......

Being reported on our board by people with links to gc coaching staff that the three top draftees have all exceeded expectations and are set to play round one barring injury.

Would lock in but unsure if Stewie wont eat them before round 1

He wouldn't get much off any of them.

If he wanted to eat players, he should just field a team of Motlops.

Haven’t seen much mentioned about Matt Crouch. If calculations correct will be priced ~$551k. Could very well be next years Cripps. 126, 101, 85, 112, 112, 127, 107, 131, 88 to finish the season (over his injury??). BCrouch back in should also help his scoring. I’m anticipating 115+ if all goes well.

Finished very strong in the back half of 2017 too.

Huge fan of an underpriced MCrouch and ZMerrett.
