Not bothered by this one bit. The bloke has been skipped over multiple times, if he was such a miss, people would be clamouring to pick him up. He has been left in the VFL for multiple years for a reason.

The thing that sets those 2 apart from Gibbons is they are big bodies that could deal with the rigours of top level AFL. Also they would be considered the exception, not the rule. He could turn into a solid player, but calling out the Suns for missing out on him I think is a bit rough on them, but of course that is my opinion.
Yep, we signed the other Liston Medal winner in Anthony Miles. Michael Gibbons is a runt who plays well enough, but we do not need him on our list because we already have plenty of small players. I can't imagine Gibbons replacing Touk Miller, while Miles is a superior choice.

I feel like this player in particular is yet another example of the media's obsession with little blokes. AFL is a sport that is great for accommodating a lot of different body types, from the big lanky blokes to the zippy rovers and the boofy blokes up in the forward line. The perennial example on these pages is Dayne Zorko, who was repeatedly overlooked by the Suns, and the rest of the AFL, and kept winning B&Fs for Broadbeach before the Lions eventually picked him up. Even then, although one of the Lions better performers he has hardly set the world on fire and they wouldn't want another one like him or they'd be picking Gibbons off the street. Brent Harvey is the ultimate argument for drafting runts, while Eddie Betts and Paul Puopolo are other good exponents, while Shaun Hart would have to be my pick for being pound for pound the bravest player I've ever watched.

Unless things have changed, Andrew Swallow can be used as a top up player in the NEAFL in a similar way to Eddie Sansbury this year. The Swans and Giants used coaches in a similar way this season.
Rather than pay their players like Lukosius & Rankine more clubs like the Suns and GWS prefer to give them the extra dollars when they extend for the next 2 years.
Collins would have to be close to leading our B&F by this stage. All the mature players have been fantastic so far.
