The future of the ABC - Guthrie sacked

What about those that don't know?

ie people that get most of their news from the ABC and SBS.

If a news corp posts an article that is mainly speculation but paints someone in a negative light should they not also have a responsibility to post a follow up on what actually happened?
How does it affect them not reading the updated story on ABC/SBS?
Has it been on the TV or is it just their websites you are referring to?
Do you watch ABC20/24 and SBS every night/day and know definitely it hasn't been on?

Murdoch media is crap. They are not a 'news' media, they are opinion based media.
I would never expect them to do a follow up on a story. So don't get disappointed. Even when an issue is taken before the Australian Communications and Media Authority and they have lost, they post an apology or retraction in some obscure position in their paper.

It is okay, I get your hate for the ABC/SBS, think you realise by now I don't share it.

Sadly the ABC simply isn’t about news anymore, rather opinion and a narrative.

It’s time the board of the ABC rolls up their sleeves as currently they have no input or accountability for content.

Yet somehow Murdoch was responsible for the s**t newscorp pumps out but the ABC board is not only not responsible, they actually have no functions or control.

No wonder the output has no integrity

Scott Morrison has praised the former magazine editor Ita Buttrose as an extraordinary Australian who has “lifted the standards of journalism” – fuelling speculation she is a contender to fill the position of ABC chair.

When and where did she do any such effing thing?

Let's remember the board of the ABC does not get involved with content, reporting, opinion etc

the appointment should only consider how well they can run a business and corporate governance.

There are $82m reasons to suggest she's a good candidate

The ABC is not a business, it's a public service.
Amassing a personal fortune is no indicator whatever of whether or not a person is fit to run the service.
Depending upon where and how she got her hands on that obscene amount of money, it might well be a contraindication.

Running a business isn't only about the bottom line, it also includes organising staff, overseeing culture, managing the organsation's direction, managing key relationships, and managing its finances among other things.

Had a brief gander at The Drum and who should be spouting her moronic drivel? None other the Miranda Bovine. Why on earth does the ABC give air time to Murochracy nut jobs who want to destroy it?

Not surprising Buttrose is in line for the job. Has all the right neocon credentials. Trained-up by Packer and the Dirty Digger. No matter she apparently wasn't on the short list of candidates recommended by the recruitment company. Another dirty deal by the IPA delegate Mitch Liefield

Hopefully, should Labor win, they will clean-up the stacked board.

All businesses run a service. If they don’t run one that meets the needs of the people, it goes out of business.

Sure one may not be qualified to run a business if all they’ve done is public service but not so the other way around.

I can’t believe you can’t grasp these basic concepts. But please elaborate on your idea as to why you think your statement is true, just for humour value.

You do know how recruiters work right? And how they are paid?

If so, you wouldn’t make that statement
