100% serious about Williams. I wasnt sure about him for a while but the signs he showed this year were very promising. Elite skills, great pace, strength in the contest, great overhead. Hes a complete player.
Agree. Finished in the top 10 for B&F this year without really scratching the surface. Massive potential.

Completely agree. He has the lot. Beautiful kick too. His only flaw seemed to be dwelling on the ball and he pretty much ironed that out of his game before the injury. Can’t wait to see what level he can rise to in 2019. We are incredibly well stocked at halfback so he’ll get plenty of midfield minutes.

Yeah I think we need him playing midfield. He has shown he can hit the scoreboard too. If he reaches his potential he will be a top 3 mid at our club.

Biggest risk with Williams is the GH factor IMO. Weren't there rumours he was open to a trade back to SA?

Anyway another year at the kennel should be enough to cement him into the western suburbs. Especially if it's a successful for one for both player and club.

Hoping a few of the more experienced guys find some form/have a good run with injury. Wood had a bit of a stinker last season, hoping Libba can find the spark again, Dicko in form would help massively, Morris staying on the park and Picken being fit would be a massive bonus for the side. We really missed some of our tough nuts last year.

If 3/5 of the above happen I'd think we'd make some headway into playing finals. The kids were fine last year.

Sorry mate that is a god awful forward line

Dickson and Picken :( are done

Schache and Boyd aren’t good enough to lead a forward line.

Gowers is already a month behind

If that’s our forward line I think we are in massive trouble
Ok so you don't think this is your forward line going into 2019. what are your thoughts going forward? how would you structure the forward line? agree picken is a big if given concussion issues. dicko could surprise and come back again. unlucky with injuries. who would you replace them with?

Not sure they are on the list yet mate but we showed in 26 we don’t really need names but Schache and Boyd are miles off the competitiveness of Cordy.

Due to present list composition I’d have either Boyd/Schache then Cordy as the two bigs. Then between Lloyd, Gowers, Cavarra, Richards, Crozier Wallis, Dunk and Akith playing the smallest.

We can’t keep playing blokes that can roll through the midfield we need at least a couple with goal sense

Spoke with Schache at training and he declared that both he and Boyd will be in more traditional forward roles this year, allowing English, Sweet and TRrengove to take the lionshare of the ruck. He said that they have been given the challenge to focus on their intensity and mobility, so you are on the mark with this area of their game needing attention.

Dickson and Picken will have an impact and their experience will be invaluable for some of the young ones you mention. Add to that list Bailey Smith and BAiley Dale who will both have opportunities forward, plus Lipinski. That shows we have a few to specialise, plus a few to roll in and out, as needed.

As for Cordy, he is unlikely to return forward. He showed the defensive forward template in 2016, but has since become one of our finest defenders. With the departure of Adams and Morris moving closer to retirement, he and Naughton will provide much of the defensive backbone, while Crozier and Richards will be the extractors running out of defense.

I agree that Llyod and Cavarra may be surprise packets, while Gowers gives the cherry on top of what looks the most imposing forward line in a while.

So many seem to br not taking Greene into the forward calculations. He showed plenty at the end of last season and I feel that if he can take another step up this season he could easily become a 20 to 30 goal forward.

Yep, a good pair of hands and is tenacious. Not sure he will make the leap just yet to cement himself, but looks like a prospect that will continue to develop in 2019.

So exactly what we have done for two years that has failed miserably you say?

It’s not 2016 anymore we need to move on and accept some of those players are done.

Play the forward line set up you suggest above we end bottom 4

Let's just say that the coaches and list management disagree with you. To suggest Dickson and Picken are done when they are on the primary list and busting a gut on the track to get themselves prime, is pretty naive. Looking forward to reminding you.

Lol coz any player would have that in-depth a convo with a fan at training.

Dickson has already had a hammy strain and Picko still has headaches. I’m 100000% behind Picko getting up but his health is paramount. I guess you are a doctor also?

And Honey Campbell And others were carried on the list for years as depth but hey I guess we have the new oracle of knowledge so please enthrall us all with exactly what will happen

This board would be a lot better off without your constant antagonizing of other posters.

It’s the way you speak to people, Matt.

You can disagree with someone without trying to belittle them.

I’ve just taken you off ignore so hopefully we can have a discussion

I’m not belittling him I’m flat out saying what he said happened didn’t.

Players do not talk to fans with that type of info,it just doesn’t happen mate.

Secondly every single thing I’ve seen and heard and most of what has been written here is the exact opposite of Schache being a traditional forward role. He has been smashed on his endurance and if he plays seniors will be a more “Saint Nick” role up and down out working his opponent. He has the one on one competitiveness of Liam Jones so putting him at a traditional FF is destined to fail.

And in case you missed it mate I don’t care what people think my “tone” is.

Your tone will get you booted off this board one day Matt. And every post like the ones directly above take you another step closer. Be respectful or be suspended. Your choice.

MD you let yourself down when you are condescending. Mattie2016 makes good points. disagreement does not need to sound condescending old dog!
