West Coast clear number 1!

They have the runs on the board and have proven they are the best forward line.

On paper Richmond are close but they can't be put at 1 until we see how they perform together. This time last year Geelong were being talked up as the best midfield in the game and possibly of all time and on paper that was fair enough, but obviously that didn't prove to be the case.

Good post.

On paper x versus y versus z is an unknown quantity. You actually do not know how good a forward line or a midfield is until they actually play together and see how they all work together. Everyone was saying Geelong would be unbeatable with the Holly Trinity playing. Turned out that mix didn't click in season 1 together, maybe they will next season.

The same could be the result with Lynch and Riewaldt in the same forward line. We won't really know until they play together just how better they will be.

The 2019 Eagles forward line is pretty settled. Kennedy and Darling have played a lot of footy together. Le cras out will lose some experience but he isn't as important structurally as the two KP's. Kids in Brander and O Allen will get more games so a bit of a change there but that is natural progression.

The thing is with you guys getting beam in - you wont be tempted to rob peter to pay paul so much
Exactly. Though I bet Bucks will continue with his forward structure, unpredictable, flexible and dynamic. Just have a feeling with De Goey, could be something special, however has penny really dropped? not sure, it will be fun to watch either way.

Not sure how the Hawks forward-line is overrated.

Gunston is the best half forward and has been for about the past five seasons, Breust is the best small forward and Roughead is a Coleman medalist.

Now add a Wingard to that mix.:thumbsu:
i rate that fwd line as #1; certainly the classiest. Wingard is a forgotten star, Poppy is dangerous too.

thats a relatively decent forward line especially if mccarthy becomes more consistent. add ballas for depth and its not so bad

Especially with Cox and Tabs fighting with McCarthy for that one spot, Switowski or even Cerra possibly pushing out Matera/Colyer. Not expecting to be anywhere near the top teams but no excuses if Freo aren't at least middle of the pack for scoring next year.

West Coast or Richmond.
Probably West Coast.
West Coast will finish Top 2 again next year.
Funny that you a Richmond supporter, maybe you're in denial but WCE wouldn't even be #2 coz Kennedy isn't as good as people would readily want to believe! Didn't do much in last season's GF as I expected and when matched up against a good KPD, becomes ineffective! Name me the last time Kennedy kicked a bag on a good KPD!

He was one of WC's best players and kicked 3 goals, had 11 marks and 18 disposals. You muppet.

That AFL list is amateurish.

For us it has Deledio forward, which probably is our goal but has rarely been achieved. Fresh we've always played him off half back.

De Boer and Lloyd are not listed although both were clearly in our best 22 last year. De Boer predominantly forward and Lloyd exclusively so. The notion both wont play is a real stretch. You could reasonably argue that Daniels will demand a spot, probably he competes with Lloyd. De Boer has leadership qualities and the ability to run in the midfield we need. Bonar is surely bound for the midfield.

Cogs is listed at half forward which is nonsense. We did use him a bit deep forward as the contested player to try and isolate one out. He was filling in for an injured Toby Greene. He's a midfielder.

So yeah, poor.

Not far off the mark, I’d probably lift Lions up a few notches and Freo and Geelong above Hawthorn given the lack of KPF depth at the Hawks which is likely to be really exposed this year with the 666.

Yeah I noticed Coniglio there as a forward pocket.

Port rated 6th best with a kid who’s not even played a game in the forward pocket (not to mention a CHF who hasn’t kicked more than 35 goals in any season and a resting midfielder).

The list must be a prediction.

The * you on about? Kennedy played one of his best games in years in that grand final. Just because he didn't kick another bag of 6+, didn't stop him from being incredibly influential. He's easily still a top 3 forward

Hard to see kennedy playing a lot this year.

If he were 3 years younger id have us up there but we see time and time again how eagles fall off a cliff after 30.

Seriously guys are like club champ at 29 - retired at 31 and do sfa inbetween.

We tried lids forward, it does not work.

Between Richmond and WC.

Kennedy and Darling are pretty much equal to Lynch and Riewoldt

Comes down to the rest -

Cripps v Edwards
Ryan v Caddy
W Rioli v Butler
Vardy v D Rioli

Probably lean Richmond because Ryan is still too unproven at this stage. Seems to have the most x factor of the lot though
Lynch is the biggest unknown. He could be 65 goal AA level good, along with Riewoldt who is already at that level and it would tip it in the Tigers favour, but it remains to be seen how he and Riewoldt will function together, whether Lynch will be fit for 18+ games and how he plays after a big transition.

Riewoldt was the best KPF of 2018.
