I’m all for developing local talent.. but the Big Bash isn’t the place for it. It’s a hit and giggle tournament. Both international slots should be a power hitter and a mystery spinner who can go both ways.

We’re a stock standard cricket side at the moment with no point of difference. Got away with it in the past as we had either Hoggy or Johnson to get us going.

Horrible bowling, horrible captaincy. Short, wide trash over and over.

21 required off the last 3 with Tye 3 overs 0/11. Agar's one bad ball turned the game in the Heat's favour. Going back to Richardson who was 1/30 and bowling erratically was very risky. Needed to go Tye, Agar, Richardson the last 3 to be any chance. Richardson's last over was complete trash and with a young bowler that's going to happen but I don't know what we expected would happen. Needed to squeeze the game as much as possible and try and get it down to 10 or 12 off the last over to be any chance. Not much Tye and Agar can do if they're only chasing 5 or 10 let alone 1 off two overs.

Really need Shaun Marsh back at the top of the order. Powerplay was better but still putting up ordinary totals. Now bowling well enough to defend totals in the 120s and 130s. Are the only team to have two international players and pick neither?

I’d love to know what the scorchers average batting total was over the past few years. Can’t remember us hitting 150+ very often at all.

Ummm Renshaw plays reverse that well?
I’m not sure I’m overly happy our future test opener has been practicing it.
Haha. He’s been able to play it for years. Played a few during his 100 against Pakistan 2yrs back. Bought up his 250 for Toombul the other week with a reverse sweep 6.

Who was it last night that said Coutler Nile should bat higher up. It's a good point no bowler is that concerned with klinger and bancroft in the first 6 overs klinger waa run a ball

Also, why did Richardson get four overs? You know that when he's already gone for plenty, he'll get pasted further. Try Bosisto or Turner!

Turner hurt his shoulder batting and didn't even field.

It was a poor over by Richardson but it hardly cost them the game, Heat were in control regardless.

The only way the Scorchers had a chance at that point was to get both Burns and Cuting out and Richardson had a much bigger chance of that than Bosisto...

Scorchers bowling is no longer good enough to defend a below par score. No really brutal quickie like Johnson, no specialist spinner.

May as well pack in the season now boys, there goes our only batter.

Reckon this season we're seeing something that has been breeding for a couple of years: fielding to a plan, and becoming very inflexible. When something's not working we seem to really persist with it until it is well too late, and you can see the lack of confidence now.
