I'm just amazed at the users that have jumped straight into the victim stole. Especially after a staff awards night. Just trying to understand the motives.

Please don't try to attach a sinister motive to the suggestion of simply another scenario in that she might have walked out of the hotel with some borrowed or pilfered champagne flutes. Or that she may have died of an accidental overdose or anything else. Both things happen in real life and neither are a judgement on her character or make her a bad person or any less a victim if she did.

If anything, it's humanising.

Seems since the massive site update I stopped getting any alerts for some of the threads I "watch" apologies if these things have already been raised/queried and I've missed it from the quick skimming of posts.

There's a few things that don't stack up so wanted to fly this on here and see if anyone else has picked up on it or may be able to shed some light.

From The Post Newspaper article.
"Bouncer admitted murder"
December 1st edition

Items mr Redfern found at the Dutch Inn dunes 1994-95
1. Large brownish bag
2. A purse with coins in it
3. A biro with Hawaiian on it
4. A 1988 Day to a page diary

2009-10
An officer from the Macro taskforce contacted Mr Redfern and told him that "most" of the items had been destroyed

Police again took him back to the site
Where "they had been digging there, he noticed evidence bags with items inside"

"Police also searched the area in 2002"

Questions;
So what is it?
All the items were destroyed or most?
If most of the items were destroyed then what items do they still have?

When Redfern was taken back to the site in 09-10 what were the items in the evidence bags found at the site? Were they relevant to the JC case?

A search was conducted of the area in 02. What was the reason for this search? Did they find anything?

Man finds diary in sand dunes as much as 7 years later. Reports it as Julie Cutler items. Amazed a cop even listened.

The Community newspaper "Post" never fails to deliver! Anyone know bouncers at The Racquet Club in East Perth in June 1988? I wonder if they've interviewed him before going with these headlines based on hearsay?

The 1988 diary is significant imo. Supposing PD is correct and the pen was the company Hawaiian's promotional item not in existence prior to 1993, could the reason why this is so confounding is because the items might belong to more than one person? A serial killer's/offender's trophies?

Personally I'm getting the impression that a huge mistake has been made around this. Bigger than just destroying a couple of items out of lost and found.

All the events that happened before and after Julie disappeared are directly related to her disappearance, there's only a couple of theories that are practical.

A kidnap for ransom (that either went wrong, or was abandoned before a ransom demand was made)

0r

A crime of passion from a someone that stalked her. (Either a wannabe lover or a jilted one). A possibility which gains some traction by allegations in the Post Newspaper article about an alleged unsworn confession by a bouncer.

However

The phone call from a female to a journalist bugs me. If it is related, then someone was co-opted, or the perpetrator is female, or can mimic one enough to fool a journalist. (Voice altering kit used to be sold by Dick Smith electronics that could've achieved this - anyone with a soldering iron could've built one).

The incident on Stirling Hwy bugs me too, as surely Julie would've recognised the driver or the car if it was someone she knew, unless she didn't think to get a good look at him or her.

I'd like to see a picture of the biro.
I think Police would've got a complete list of all former employees of the Parmelia, the shops inside it, the bar, and any contracted security staff.
It would add considerable interest to know if this alleged bouncer mentioned in the Post Newspaper also worked at the Parmelia and when. Without knowing a name, whatever association with this case that he has is impossible to sleuth.
Anyhow online sources of information back in the 80's is extremely limited, but some exist, and no doubt witnesses will come forward when the information in the Post Newspaper article gains wider circulation.

If anyone, besides Julie herself, is responsible for her disappearance, then whoever it is, or they are, must realise that they're living upon borrowed time, if the Post Newspaper article is going down the right rabbit burrow.

If it was a ransom gone wrong, why pull all the things out the car and keep them?

Why not drive the whole shaboodle into the drink? Immediately all the evidence is stripped.

If the officer is correct in his assumptions, Julie didn't make the Racquet Club, or stayed little time.

Leaves at 12.30. Approx 30 mins to get to Cottesloe under the circumstances. Back door wouldn't lock. Officer speculates perpetrator hid behind back seat in the boot. Would have entered between time she had discussion with colleague then re entering the vehicle.

"The former cop believes Ms Cutler succumbed to whatever fate she met in a five-hour window between 12.30am on June 20 and daybreak that morning."

Even if it’s a ransom “gone wrong” with no body it was still possible to go ahead with the ransom. After all, that’s happened numerous times through history. And if they took the “wrong” Julie then surely they could have still asked for ransom from her frantic aunt and uncle. The kidnapping for ransom doesn’t sit right why hide the car? You’d think they would want it found to prove she’s missing in unusual circumstances

Can’t tell you how many glasses came home with me (and others) from hotels and restaurants when I was 20. It was quite common to do. We certainly didn’t really think of it as stealing but souveniring

A kidnap gone wrong or aborted before a ransom demand was made theory, assumes that Julie was abducted and held somewhere whilst the car was disposed, bag was placed and the phone call made.
But then again, would police disclose if a ransom demand was ever made? IMO, they wouldn't do. The former SAS guy who extorted the Casino we only know about, because the knowledge of it became public after the Casino was evacuated.

I don't think there was any intention for the car to be hidden, rather for it to be found on the most beach in Perth. I think that the car being washed out to sea and submerging was actually not meant to happen. There's a lot easier places to make that happen in Perth. Simply setting it on fire would've done the trick. No, I think if the car was put on the beach, it was meant to be found on the beach.

With the current context in Western Australia, authorities are facing an incredible challenge to solve the cold case of Julie Cutler. The 30-year-old case still lacks proper evidence to arrest the suspect.

https://brainwavescience.com/indust...reward-brain_fingerprinting_brainwavescience/

“The last time I saw Julie was at the Parmelia Hotel when she delivered room service to our door. Two days later we were in the UK, and two weeks later she had vanished,” the man, who did not wished to be named, told the Western Suburbs Weekly.

The man met Ms Cutler while a student at the former WA Institute of Technology, now Curtin University, but said when he spoke to police a few weeks ago he could not add anything to their investigation, which has been re-booted after a review of the case and new information.

He could of taken it anywhere. Setting on fire attract too much attention on the beach. The ocean would remove all the evidence.

Meeting up with someone she may have known that lead to her demise seems much more probable then any other scenario but is this confirmed? It seems speculative at best despite headlines as there seems no other information about this bouncer and enquiries into who he was

Having Parmelia champagne glasses could have meant Julie visited her car a couple of times taking glasses out with her or she offered a lift to a couple and they all walked out with their champagne glasses?

Knit picking. Champagne flutes were found in her car after a staff awards night. Have you got a statement that said two or three champagne flutes?
https://www.smh.com.au/national/wes...e-question-still-remains-20180423-p4zb5k.html
Nick picking my *ing ass! The exaggerating and repeated repetition of particular statements or assertions over multiple threads doesn't make it true and has to stop!

There was not a car load of champagne flutes found in her car. Not even 6! Several were found. A couple would be 2, so I'd guess 3 or maybe 4.

Apart from several Parmelia Hilton champagne flutes in the four-door Fiat, nothing else significant was found inside the vehicle.

https://www.watoday.com.au/national...e-question-still-remains-20180423-p4zb5k.html

Personally I'm surprised they found anything considering the absolute wreck they pulled out of the ocean.

Julie did go to her car at least once through the evening and returned to the function.

The day before she vanished, Ms Cutler worked a shift as a room service waitress at the Parmelia Hilton.
She changed into a black evening dress and joined about 180

Workmates told police that Ms Cutler stayed until the party ended about 12.30am on Monday, June 20.

10 days after her disappearance a kidnapping wasn't far from the mind of her sister at least.
Edit - cant upload the article "For Gods Sake let her Go" Sister's plea for lost Julie.
Although there is no evidence Julie has been kidnapped, Nicole wanted her message published to cover the possibility. "It is only speculation but I can speculate like anyone else what might or might not have happened" she said. The paragraph after says "police refuse to comment on such speculation but have said "nothing is being ruled out".

is it possible ... that Julie Cutler parked her car early for work...and strolled to get a bite...on the saturday at King Kebabs(late lunch)...and forgot (left behind) her plastic bag containing her work uniform there....
She was to change into her uniform once at work...but she did not have it now...so she used another uniform from the hotel pantry to get by....until another uniform was supplied....
Just need to know if King Kebabs (Centreway Arcade)would of been open on a saturday...(and if she worked on the saturday afternoon or evening shift) prior to the forthcoming sunday...
Her evening dress could of been in the car...as she did go out the car on
I wonder if it was proved without doubt the uniform was Julie’s. It’s pretty sketchy on the date and time it was left and how long it had been there. It could have belonged to anyone who may not even remember where they lost it. Maybe why no one else ever claimed it was theirs.
