Got anything to back that up or is this just what you want to believe? Hasn't he had a few interviews with Molyneux now? 3 in fact.

Seems like a great guy from all accounts.

On the last part (I forgot to quote), I wish he would debate Richard Wolff but I understand he'd be on a hiding to nothing if he were to debate an actual economist. It wouldn't be very good for his brand and he's better off sticking to the identity politics.
I've only come across the one interview which is why I thought he'd stopped being involved.

Hope he does debate that guy. Or more to the point, have a discussion. Can't stand this barracking like it's a team sport.

bararccking is no aspiration but when it means that you have tones of delusion then you get off the bus and you say.. thanks lad..

From what I understand, Peterson stated publicly that no one on the left is willing to debate him. Wolff offered and then Peterson refused.

The conference was created after Peterson dropped out of a debate with Douglas Lane [the publisher of Zer0 Books]. Peterson publicly stated he had not debated a Marxist since they won’t debate him. Later, Peterson publicly responded to criticism of him canceling the debate by stating Lane was not a popular Marxist.

[Subsequently, the New Symbolization Project] invited [Professor Richard] Wolff, a well-known “Marxian”—a person who supports political and philosophical theories of Marx—economist, professor and writer, to the conference, and Wolff agreed to come, NSP only paying for his travel fare. When the NSP offered Peterson to debate Wolff, Peterson agreed but for nothing less than $50,000—an amount the club could not afford.

that is evo 's favourite band, they always stuck me as an anthem band that folks sing along to at the cricket. I 'spose, quite felicitous for evo's brio and oeuvre
personally, I find them a bit milquetoast. I preferred Powder Monkeys meself.

Tim Hemensley ftw

Powder Monkeys. not Powder Finger

Israelis love to bomb and there's been plenty of times in history where they've been forced to live in squalor.
Yeah but their record of achievement over the journey is pretty astonishing. I mean consider what has been produced by the Jewish word of at best ~10 million people versus the Islamic word of nearly 2 billion.

Well he's trying to get something started with Zizek. Hopefully that happens. Will be a riot.

Two men passionately engaged in completely different conversations.

Yes: Peterson is a marketing machine.

He claims to have the one true map to happiness and chief-lobsterhood. And for the right price he will share it with you.

If he's just another Anthony Robbins, then he decided to take a bizarre twisting arse about pathway to get there.

Is there any chance that you could stop obsessing with the mans marketing strategy and address the actual content of his work?

No that he makes truth claims that are unsupported. He speaks waffle. Then sells this snake oil on through his marketing system.

It's the best deal in town. I highly recommend the platinum membership.:thumbsu:

I’m going to have to better acquaint myself with this guy’s work, given the amount of interest it’s garnering. I heard him in one of Sam Harris’ podcasts and he didn’t impress me - waffled on interminably without saying a hell of a lot. There must be more to it.

Is 12 Rules a good representation of his philosophy? I don’t know if I can stand listening to him for a whole lecture series...

I'll give you a heads up before starting out. You can pretty much guarantee one thing. Virtually everyone that identifies as a contemporary "progressive" will be critical of Peterson based upon anything other than his actual work.

Good thing I don’t identify with any such ideological categories. That’s what I tell myself anyway.

There's nowt sadder than a muscle mary, the breeder versions are no better. They're the living embodiment of Woody Allen's gag about masturbation being sex with someone you really love.
Remarkable how little empathy or understanding you have of the human condition - unless of course its the latest cause celebre.

Unfortunately, while there are good chunks of his thinking in 12 rules, its not fully developed, he is a much better lecturer then he is a writer.
The lecture series is where he shines - suggest the later 2017 maps of meaning series.

Peterson is NOt right wing.

But todays contemporary left have abandoned their divine responsibility of protecting the poor and down trodden. The left today are full of misanthropic suicidal resentment. And unfortunately, a portion of the right is following down the same path.

Lucky we have conservatives to cut government programmes designed to protect the poor then.

well, thats false. The lefts apparatchiks and the factotums are not the left's constituents. The governing left have always thumbed their nose and the true working classes. This is the binary paradox where one cannot reconcile the sussex street w@nkers and their constituency.

But but the exploitation of the working classes
