I have brought this matter up in other threads, but this latest event is so disturbing that the matter needs to be highlighted.

You may remember the hoax papers put forward by academics Peter Boghossian, Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay:

Now the machinery of Boghossian's own university is coming after him in what could only be seen as a disturbing censorious action:

Not sure how long this trend of Leftist censorship of opposing views and thought is going to continue .
We are seeing small interest groups strangling freedom of speech with a result that the average academic is unwilling ro voice honest opinions

That Rogan video brilliantly sums up the new left of today and a lot of the fraudulent so-called lefties both on this board and in the greater public.

The fact that the experiment was played out in academia, the very wheelhouse and breeding ground for ideas and concepts that inform our society as we know it, is quite telling. Great to see the spotlight being put on it and exposing it for the utter s**t show that it is. Magnificent :thumbsu:

Do me a favour mate - tell me what you have been stopped from saying.

A nice little list of all the things you feel you can no longer say as a result of “pc gone mad”

Stopped in what context? Socially pressured? It happens regularly to anyone whose opinion differs around these types of clowns.

This is the one where Mein Kampf excerpts were slightly modified and published to further feminism, right? LOL
Mastertroll.

It is a mastertroll, but it highlights a disturbing issue also. Some of these people are actually influencing young minds.

Nice to see you posting a Christian perspective SB.

There is hope for amicable conversation.

I saw Peter in Adelaide a couple of years ago debating about God; he seems a good bloke from all accounts.

Human Reactions to Rape Culture and Queer Performativity at Urban Dog Parks in Portland, Oregon

Journal: Gender, Place, and Culture

This paper addresses dog oppression, dog rape and dog rape culture.

Throughout this work, the word ‘rape’ describes human perceptions of dogs forcefully penetrating other dogs who have given no indication of wishing to engage in sexual activity (see Palmer 1989). Of course, the following caveat applies. Because of my own situatedness as a human, rather than as a dog, I recognize my limitations in being able to determine when an incidence of dog humping qualifies as rape. In particular, from my own anthropocentric frame, it is difficult if not impossible to ascertain when canine sexual advances are un/wanted, or when they are rapes rather than performances of canine dominance, which introduces considerable unavoidable ambiguity in my interpretations of this variable.

Results
Navigating ‘Dog Rape Culture’

Female human companions attempted to intervene in a dog’s rape/humping incident, regardless of the dog’s gender, 98% of the time. Male human companions were far less likely to intervene in the rape/humping of a female dog than a male dog, with interventions occurring only 18% of the time.

Oppression of dogs
Gender had an apparent effect on the way a dog was treated (cf. Kydd and McGreevy 2017). Male human companions referred to their male dogs as ‘buddy’

There was not a single incident when I overheard the word ‘bitch’ being used to refer to a female dog by a female human companion, but this word was heard a total of 108 times by male human companions.

Frequency of leash use was also more common among male human companions than female human companions. Males were 68% more likely to leash their dogs than females.

IIRC from the interview the "dog rape culture" paper actually got through the approval process and was published in a journal, WOW! talk about seeking out research that fits into your confirmation bias.

The fact that it was discovered as a piss take paper later does not IMO reduce the hilarity or concern, particularly in this area of academia.

Not just published - they were given some sort of award for academic excellence.

The humanities/sociology departments of western universities needs to have a rotary hoe sent through them, before these charlatans completely destroy all its credibility.

This aint a new thing. Anyone doing research on genes used to be attacked by leftists at universities in the 60s and 70s including by the arts professors themselves. In some ways leftists are more open to discussion then they were in the past.

I listen to a lot of Joe Rogan's podcasts although had not seen that one before, so bloody funny but concerning at the same time.

Just started watching a few of his podcasts. Bit late to the party but am enjoying them. He's a great interviewer and gets some very interesting people on his show for sure. Watched the David Goggins one that was in the suggested list linked to the Michael Pollan one you posted(great vid, btw) in the Decriminalisation thread. Absolute maniac!

Yer, Joe Rogan is a fantastic interviewer, he knows when to speak and when to shut up and let his guest take center stage.

I watched one yesterday with Hamilton Morris about psychedelics, really interesting.
