We’ve got Cameron Bruce coaching the midfield this year. Has a good record
Forgot about Bruce hope he can get the job done, I guess the proof will be in the pudding, who is handling stoppages I hope not Barker would prefer Stanton for that role. Happy with Amos back in defence where he never should have left, will be interested to see if Amos can get our defence back to where it was in 17 without Doc there. I think Teague will be good up forward.

Because it was fairly obvious last season BB lost his way and lost the players there for a while. Rest assured Walls still wields a lot of influence at the club, and if he says 'yeah nah' then it will be over for BB.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Dimma was bees foreskin away from being given the flick apparently he had lost the players as well. Should we look at Nathan Buckley end of 2017............. same deal .

The one coach we are short is a gun midfield coach, spewing we couldn’t get Mitchell would have been perfect fit.

Mitchell would have been great get for the blues and he would have been the perfect mid coach for the young players

Blake Caracella is the man , He is the bloke we rate the most at Richmond and extremely switched on with tactic's and setups

I would rather lose every other coach at Richmond rather than caracella

I think Richardson is the victim of the same thing Ratten, Malthouse, Pagan and Brittain were at Carlton. It's not that they couldn't coach. It's that the people around them are either sub par or non-existent. Saints have not had anywhere near the recruiting tactics and success we have had. They aren't known for their football department. Carlton has always been a coaching wasteland because the quality of people in the football department was poor to non-existent and all it produced was a group of players not fit enough, not developed enough and not enough quality with player contracts really restricting things.

We've tried very hard to fix this. If we get to the end of next year, we will look at where we can improve and if it's tactics we will bring in specialist tactical people to work with Bolton or at least try to.

The days of sack the coach because something is wrong are long gone at Carlton. This is an era where problems are isolated and specialist people are employed to improve these things.

100% agree.

Only need to watch the StK draft night video re pick trading to see they have no clue. Richo will struggle with those clowns running the show off the field.

But never stop open dialogue.
Nothing should be off the table when discussing the club in a reasoned and thought out manner, whether it be good or bad.

It's fine saying that people that think it's just Bolton have no idea, but should things not map out the way the club foresees them to go, what do they do?
What if the team doesn't gel on the park this year? The next?
Bolton has been good for the club in terms of how much he has invested of himself into it, but everyone has KPI's to meet and no one more than the coach.

Look, it's a conversation that doesn't necessarily have to take place now, but should things not go to whatever the plan may be, questions would have to be asked and who we ask them of? Everything at this stage points to the one direction.

CART BEFORE HORSE

Do you think it would be a cart before the horse situation at the CFC?
Do you think the discussion would be off the table at board level? Of course not, or at least it really shouldn't be.

Most supporters don't wish to be thinking about, nor discussing what-ifs, but the club would have to. I'm interested in the club.

I think your over generous there. Richo is one of the clowns :D.......we were well to be rid of him.
I might be the odd one out here, but i thought Richo was very good at Carlton. He was one reason why Ratten did have some success.

I am certain they will discuss it and take action if and when its needed. I sure as heck understand what your saying but hell mate give them a chance.
The list is substantially rebuilt, now lets see what happens.
As a supporter thats how it goes and if any of us supporters want to do more about policy we need to find a way to get on the board.

Of course I'm giving Bolton a chance, but not afraid of discussing possibilities.
It's certainly a discussion I could have at a bar or with friends, so why not here?

Bolton is entering his fourth year at the club now and no matter which way you look at things, the heat will be on. It's always on but expectations will now have clocked up and Bolton has largely been given as much material to work with as any coach in the system....along with an advisor.

I just can't see how it's set in stone that Bolton will be at the club post 2019, regardless of the year the club has.
Has the board publicly stated this and if so........ :)

So long as you stop discussing long enough to order when its your shout....:D
To be honest I agree that a club should always be looking ahead to best options and I trust they are.
And yet I feel Bolton is only now about to enter the first year where he has a team to play with. Even so I dont think there will be any heat whatsoever until the next season of 2020. Any kind of success in wins this year coming surely is a bonus not an expectation. We have come from a long way back.

Some success? He finished with a 56 odd% win ratio and after having to throw his first 10 games to get the no1 pick a lot of coaches would kill for that ratio.

I thought I heard somewhere they guaranteed him to 2020 Harks not that that means squat these days.

Yeah I agree, talking about scenarios calmly on this forum isn't going to affect team or coaching performance depending on positivity levels. I'm hoping this is the season when things begin to click, but am certainly not confident about it.

Hard to be confident that's for sure given the history of our team. Hope is definitely the word I cling to.
If we win 4 on the trot at some point in the future. Then confidence can start to emerge....hopefully.

I think there will be some varying opinions on this and you will probably find them all on this forum.

I am hoping we have a significantly better season and the question does not arise but if we dont I am not sure BB will be at the club in 2020.
